Why Do Non Prince Fans Come To Prince.org ?

I would never visit a Fan Site of an Artist that I don't like. I notice a few never say anything good. I mean... What-T-F? Don't they have somewhere better to be?

I'm a fan of the man's music. However, his personality and business practices (particularly those that have to do with his fans) leave me cold.

Sorry To Hear That. I don't think fans felt that way before the internet came along... I remember the sick feeling I felt the first time I came to Prince.org It disturbed me to read so many negative comments about him. Before that it was all good for me. I would hear somehow about a new album coming out then a title. My only problem was that it was'nt in my hands yet. Im sure Prince does'nt appreciate his fans all the time. I can understand that. It would get on my nerves too. "The Human Condition" He has too many fans to loose us all. I pre-ordered Crystal Ball and didn't get it til after I bought one in a store. I cared for about 5 minutes, then after I received my copy I gave the other away. After that I knew better than to join the NPGMusicClub until everyone was satisfied with it. The only thing I have missed out on is the once in a life time experience of being at a sound check. I would of payed $100 extra for that alone. Bottom line with me is, Prince puts out a CD in the store, I Buy It~ All other Music I download. As for concerts I hope he plays close to where I live. I believe he tried his best to make 1-800NewFunk and NPGMusicClub work for us, but what is really important here?... THE MUSIC What else could a fan want?

That's one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is the same way you always have, before you got on the internet or came to Prince.org. Which is to not give a damn what other people/fans thought. My opinion of Prince hasn't been changed by the internet itself. Knowledge about him has. But I'd rather be well-informed in making my Prince-based decisions than get burned, or support something I don't agree with, because Prince is putting me in a position to do it.

No one on the internet has changed the way I think about Prince except for Prince himself.

I have actually thought of moving to Minn/St.Paul area to be more in the loop so to say. Especially during the Glam Slam era. I wondered if I would become dis-enchanted with Prince if I was close to him. I don't know what he is really like. That kind of mystery is what made me like him. I keep some people around me guessing, they say they don't know about me, and I say, Good! I like it that way. And usually its because they don't like my type.

AaronFantastic I understand your point of view, your right.
But I hope it gets better in the future, not worse...

Just to have their cheep thrill to put Prince down, Alon with whoever's site they are under. Some people are just troublemakers. Thats all.

Because they love Prince.

They just won't admit it! You know that in their own personal lives they talk about Prince like he is God. lol They probably just want to seem cool and "different" by criticizing him here.

That was 10 years ago. I am single and at the time worked for Kinko's. You can easily transfer since they have 1.000 stores in the country. It was just a thought. Whats wrong with that?

I've been here almost 4-5 years...it's a question that has plagued Prince.org for years. The most common response I've heard in this times frame is...

"Some people love to get arise out of others, some people crave attention, and they'll take it rather it's negative or positive (bipolar or social anxiety disorder symptom.)"

If you want an entire web based community to pay attention to you, and your kind of sick or desperate. Go the to website and start an uproar, spewing negative comments about whom they're fans of...

The org is a lot better nowadays, we used to have some threads that would blow your mind! Totally unrelated to Prince. So many that Ben and the other Org admin. closed the General Discussion forum.

Your best bet is to ignore them, don't give them the attention that they crave.
