1999 Album Cover - Nuclear Fallout? I don't know why this hit me after over 30 years of owning this album, but what I had always thought of as just a random background or snow started intriguing me as nuclear fallout/nuclear winter. . Given the apocalyptic nature of the title track, and the somewhat Heaven/Hell imagery in the letters, it seemed to fit. . Has anyone else thought of this before? . Along with ATWIAD and SOTT, this is a cover that has a whole lot going on and you see something new every time you look.

That would make sense given the title track subject matter, but I always thought those were stars.

They're most likely stars, but for years I thought it was snow. However, I thought that was just a reference to Minneapolis.

It does have kind of a strange menacing feel to it with the eyes and body parts. I remember Christian groups at the time saying "if you turn it upside down, it spells 'devil'", etc. The 1 looks very phallic, but I do like his little pants making the N. I also get a feeling of a funky metropolis from the P, maybe that's the music as well. I never did see nuclear winter in the artwork though, but I could see that now you mention it. "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."
