My favourite P album changes depending on mood/circumstance at the time. At the minute my favourite is either Parade or SOTT. My favourite artist, besides Prince, is Tom Waits. I, for one, would definitely want to listen to Parade according to Tom Waits. That's just me though. Heh...

So, just for jollies:

Which artists would you want to hear perform your favourite prince albums?

AND/OR

Which classic albums by other artists would you want to hear performed by prince?

Like... Imagine Prince doing a version of Damien Rice's album O.

Or Paul Simon doing Sign O The Times.

i would love to see what Beck could do if he'd record an entire prince album,

like he did with Inxs' Kick and Leonard Cohen and Velvet Underground LPs in

his Record Club project.

not sure what album i'd like to see prince cover in it's entirety. probably one

of joni mitchell's albums, there'd be a lot of room for reinventing the songs,

musically, but the lyrics would still be top notch, something i've been missing

in prince's music of late.

I have The Purple Album, which is a mashup of Purple Rain music with Jay Z's The Black Album lyrics. It gives the Purple Rain music a whole new life - and it WORKS.

Alice Cooper just released Welcome 2 My Nightmare, which sorta revisits his classic Welcome To My Nightmare but with a lot of current pop stars. They're new songs, but with enough touches of the old work to trigger some nostalgia.
