Hi,

Could someone help. I'm trying to find out the name of a song that i heard on a Prince mixtape that i lost (and that introduced me to Prince).

I can't remember the exact song lyrics but it is at least 6/7 mins long which makes me think it was a 12" release. Prince states that 'yellow is a happening color, if you're a banana' and then he sings about the colour blue. I have tried googling various versions of that lyric but never found anything.

Yup, it's definitely a Sheila E. song called "Yellow," and it is a fucking fantastic song. It's more of a duet with Sheila than anything ... well, maybe not a duet per se, but Prince's vocals are prominent on the song. One of my favorites.

As I had no friends who liked Prince (still don't) I always assumed I knew tons about the man and his music until I started scouring the internet and this site in particular.
