I'd sell my soul for an instrumental version of Lemon Crush

That drum programming and these keyboard sounds/samples are so damn hypnotic that i wish I could just drop the vocals and focus on the beat and play it in a loop for 12 hours in a row biggrin

I guess this is one of the good ones! What are 3 garbage songs that go with it? I like the song myself but plenty of folks have found it weak. It must be good however since the the mighty Trevor likes it.

Oooohhh ! Big Chick is all about the "Lemon Crush". Affectionately know in the most hardcore of circles simply as the "Crush". Honestly, the musical idea, production and vocal delivery IMO is cool. What kinda hurts the track is the fact that "Lemon Crush" is the goofiest Prince euphemism ever used. I know what he means but what does he mean? In context of the album it's a Vicki Vale track. Is the "Crush" shes ready for... the drink, Batman's cod piece, the color yellow on the bat symbol ? I just don't know. But one day, I would like to be at a Prince concert and Prince says "Anybody ready for the Crush"? And I'll be like "Yeah, I am ready for that fucking Crush Prince. Been ready for that Crush since 1989."

I'm of the minority that looooves the batman sdtk. I dug it before I was even a prince fan. I dig and feel every track...and sadly I can even dig arms of orion in a schmaltzy moment. The lyrics r trite, but the melody is ....yes....still schmaltzy...but I can dig it.

But yeah...lemon crush...back on topic. I love it...clever, fun..and someone said hypnotic...perfect word. Its got a bit of a swing or swagger too. The bridge(?) part always sends my ears in a rollercoaster looptyloop

Arms of Orion is on the same album and it's possibly worse than Jughead.

See I always thought Lemon Crush ment Bitter Sweet... Like Lemons=Bitter but a Crush=Sweet drink (Strawberry Crush, Orange Crush)

and replace Lemon Crush with Bitter Sweet and the lyrics make sense

Every time I kiss you Bitter Sweet nay I can't resist you Bitter Sweet

PS: I love this song so much and can't belive it's not at the very least been in the sampler set let alone a full performance

Alright...Cool. I enjoyed reading your Lemon Crush theory. I agree with the drink but I never took the meaning as Bitter Sweet. Interesting.

Yeah it's just how I understand it (obviously I'm not Prince so I wouldn't claim to speak for him) Also he seams to do the same thing in The Steeles song Colour... Where he replaces the word Judge with the word Colour to reflect how in society skin colour is sometimes used as a judge

Colour me angry if you colour me less than I do, Becomes

Judge me angry if you judge me less than I do

Just a theory

I'd keep my soul thank you.

Although, I like the song.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
