Lolita possibly influenced by the Kubrick movie/Nabokov novel? Just wondering. Especialy with lyrics like 'You're much too young to peep my stash'. Hundalasiliah!

That is where the popular use of the phrase comes from yep.

Really? I've never heard the term outside of the movie/book/song. Never knew it was a thing. Hundalasiliah!

I don't know if Prince ever read/saw the book/film (I've seen the film long ago) but"Lolita" has become proverbial for "young girl seducing old man". My main problem with this song is that, just like in What Do U Want Me 2 Do from the otherwise excellent Musicology LP, Prince seems to put the blame solely on the young girl. jeez...it's just a song, not a confessional.

Well...yeah. That's pretty much self-evident. At least, the concept/nomenclature "Lolita" came from, as The Police sang in "Don't Stand So Close Me",

In popular language a "lolita" means a very hot, very young, (and usually very thin, too) girl. Where u been? A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Its a ditty about older man younger girl fantasies...that exist in BOTH sexes. Theres no 'blame' placed on the girl. He acknowledges it would be hot, she thinks so to. He wisens up and uses experience to say it wouldnt play out well in the end, but thinking about it was fun. He faults both of their overactive sexual desires...the chick isnt blamed for it. Its not even a usery approach...some of the experiences r shared experiences like dancing like frank and ava... I unno...thats just how i see it.

You might be reading more in to the "blame" psychology than is warranted. I think the age of the girls in these songs is irrelevant. The difference between the later and earlier songs cited is that he was a married man when he wrote the more recent tracks. Hence the, "You'll never make a cheater out of me" and "Shame on you, baby. Can't you see this ring?" lyrics. "I Was FINE Back in the Day!"

For a long time, Amy Fisher was called the Lethal Lolita back in the early 90s.

I have this movie on DVD..it's been a while since I watched but the male character that has a crush on Lolita writes her a poem in which he rhymed "Lolita" and "Sweeta"...and if I remember she found it rather foolish...I'll try 2 find the words...
well, checked. He's actually reading her someone else's poem (that has a rhyme with the words "vista" and "sister") to which she said: " I think its a little corny the "vista-sister", that's like "Lolita-sweeta"
