Heard the song on a jukebox in a bowling alley on an Air Force Base in "West" Germany.

My sister bought the album when we moved back to the States. I taped her copy...wore it out...bought my own and have bought everthing I knew of since then.

i was in2 punk and pop punk (as in adam and the ants) when i was about 8 (yes 8 years old).

i woz really in2 the whole concept, dressing up thing. i turned on my tv one day and watched the video 2 Little Red Corvette. Liked the song but didn't know who he woz. I woz 9. I went down to my local record store with my mother. She let me ask for the song and I asked who it was by. The guy in the store said "It's a little man called Prince and he's almost as big as u young man!" (I'll never 4get that) I walked out with the album 1999.

10 and that was "When Doves Cry" I remeber to be jealous because Jacko Wacko was my favorite and it took some time before I admit that Prince WAS the musician... Remeber I liked the music form the first moment...

10 and my older sister would lock her door of her bedroom, put on the red light bulb and dance to "I Wanna be Your Lover" I wasn't really sure what his music was about, but I knew it was sexy and I liked it!

I totally forgot about it, and then later, When Doves Cry came out and it never occurred to me that it was the same artist.

I wasn't converted into a fan until ATWIAD, which blew me completely away.

i was 12 i think & Controversy was the 1st P song i ever heard. i was over my Aunt Frankie's House & my cousin Randy had Controversy & Dirty Mind & i thought P was a FUNNY lookin' dude but the song stuck on me & has always been a Fav song of mine...
