I love it, P is a mess, a pretty mess
Madonna's struggle version was horrible. Marvin had to be somewhere rolling over in his grave. |

Now this ^^^^ was my favourite Prince hair style EVER!!
This style looked very good on him. My favorite is the long hair, paired with a big hoop earring, but this one is nice. |

I think Madonna and Massive Attack's cover of "I Want You" was fantastic.
The original was a pile of shit with corn in it...Madonna's took out the cornn bit it remained a pos. That's the long, complicated way ofnsqying I think its a shit song, no matter who sings it. Currently extending my flame retardant umbrella.
----- Some people have no taste whatsoever. No sane person could think this cover was good. I know some of you hate RnB but come the fuck on. Man...I ain't even gonna argue...but I do have decent fast. This specific song I'm just not a fan of....I see what people like about it. It just that never once...ever have I had a desire to hear this song. As for a litmus test...I wholeheartedly LOOOOOVE got to give it up....I even have the like 12 minute version. Mr thick got as close as he could to stealing without stealing it...a real lack of class.... I loooove me some marvin...%99 more than him into Madonna....its just this one song. But brush...I don't have shit taste in music....I have good taste in music....one song does not make for a good sample size I mean I'm a prince fan..m.and jot a eyeliners and highheel fan...just the music....that helps...yeah? I hate the song animal kingdom... Does that help...the original "the dance"his cold and lifeless next to the 3121 version..... Shit....why ambi sitting here attempting to have u validate my taste in music....oh wait. I did shit on a fairly popular marvn Gaye song. I deserve it. But bruh...I have good taste in music.. |

More evidence that 3rdEyeGirl is nothing more than a karaoke band that sounds like The Revolution. THe original song doesn't sound like Purple Rain, btw. Still I'd take this bootleg-Revolution-wannabe style over Prince's more recent "original" material in a heartbeat. |

What an absurd, nonsensical, hurtful, disrespectful thing to say! You're either a troll or a goose. I've finally got a handle on what a troll tends to be. But now there's this goose thing...what's going on there? |

They play a lot of cover songs. I don't know what's hurtful about me saying it. They have no strong songs of their own yet and they intentionally emulate the Revolution. They are a continuation of Prince's bad habits at a time when it seemed he might finally be breaking away from them. That's disappointing for me. I'm not a troll. I'm just honest about what I see. I will take 3EG's worst moments over a lot of what Prince has done in the last 15-20 years, but at this point they haven't done anything besides play Prince's favorite songs from the 70's and churn out the best of Prince's major label heyday. It's 2013, though and where are the great 3EG songs? |

In what way has 3RD EYE GIRL tried to emulate The Revolution? Other than The Revolution being comprised of mostly white musicians and 3RD EYE GIRL the backing band being all white, they don't share any similarities. The fact that they don't have a lot of recorded output is the fault of Prince. What else can they play without much original material.
Comparing 3RD EYE GIRL's one year with Prince to Prince's career since the 90's is lopsided. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR |

What does this have to do with 3rd Eye being "nothing more than a karaoke band that sounds like The Revolution". Did The Revolution play a lot of cover songs?
Andwhat are those bad habits you are referring to? The wooh is on the one! |

They're Prince's employees--they play what he wants them to, adding only what he wants them to and playing the songs he wants to play. That doesn't make them a karaoke band, just musicians with a boss who wants to play too many covers (as he has for the last 20 years), generally choosing songs that I don't want to hear from the original artists, much less by him. But the fact that he sometimes chooses to waste his band members' talents on uninteresting covers says little or nothing about those bands, whether it's 3EG or the mid-90's NPG (or any other versions, but I always felt that hearing that NPG dig into yet another version of "The Jam" was as unpleasant as unanesthetized dental work). As far as emulating the Revolution--I don't see that at all. They play some Revolution material, obviously, but they don't sound like them, and they don't seem to be trying to sound like them. They certainly don't seem to act like them, either. |
