That's a good point. The Soul Children won't get a dime before the song isnt for sale, but if any other artist recorded a cover of a Prince tune, would he take legal action or make a snide remark about the cover (i.e. Lopez Tonight). It surely would be ironic if Stax Records or Soul Children pursured legal action against Prince.

All things said, this is a very soulful rendition, backed by 3RD EYE GIRL. They surely have grown as as players since January.

Isaac Hayes and David Porter wrote and produced the song for Stax Records. The Stax catalog from 1968 to 1975 is now owned by Concord Records - which (possibly along with Hayes and Porter as songwriters) would get a share of royalties from a cover.

The Soul Children were performers. They get nada from a cover.

He only allowed that girl to post the song with ONE idea in mind: that we'll publish the link here, so he could say it wasn't oficial after all, sur the Org and shut it down. He tried that strategy countless times but the mods won't ever fall for it ^^
