PRINCE IS AN INSPIRATION FOR MUSICIANS - DUH! Not always for songwriters, I realize. I like this image for musical inspiration. I think it's pretty good advice when it comes to being a musician of any kind.

Okay, point taken. So, not all situations and all times--but, if one finds oneself on stage with an assortment of musical instruments and a microphone, and no idea how to play a single one of them or how to sing, and one looks out and sees several thousand people who clearly expect some sort of musical performance, then, most definitely, one should BE MORE LIKE PRINCE than one's own clearly out-of-one's-depth self.
Except maybe be careful with the instruments, since they probably don't belong to one. | |

I love this pic and I love this poster made with it. Is the poster for sale somewhere? He just looks at one with the music, music personified, in rapture, in the zone; you wouldn't even know that thousands of people are there watching him. | |
