I wonder if the release of this music video for "Breakfast Can Wait" going to premiere 3 months after the song is released. Last year, Prince shot "Rock N Roll Love Affair" video almost a year to the date (September 8th) and came and went. The brilliant marketing stroke of using Dave Chappelle's parody of Prince from Chappelle Show for the single cover art, has gained great publicity from CNN, MSNBC, Fuse etc. Prince has enough tunes in his canon to assemble an album for release through Kobalt to coincide with the single.

The video shoot should be good. This could be his sexiest video since "Insatiable".

Never heard the song until last week. It may seem like old news to you but to me & others who don't follow so closely it's new. Prince has a history of releasing songs long before the CD & I don't download that music because I don't want to get new music in bits & pieces. So I miss out on some songs here & there. Then when the CD is released its all good.

Prince is doing the right thing....treating this song as a "real" single and giving it the promotion and attention it deserves It's a great song and I think it's gonna make some noise on the charts.

so,are you saying that the Plectum Electrum album won't be released in physical form? I'm assuming that "Breakfast Can Wait" is the official 'first' single from the upcoming album.

I really think Prince has been putting singles out just to see if they 'pick up' any interest outside the usual hardcore fanbase (what's left of it) and Breakfast Can Wait (along with his Twitterings) seems to have grabbed the attention of the general media/public a little bit and he has reacted to this.

It's a bit late to put out a video to a mediocre song that was heard months ago.

Just more of the usual bullshit.

Keep in mind for the general public that buys their music from iTunes/Amazon/Google Play (as opposed to obscure websites) the song was only released this past Tuesday via Kobalt/AWAL and a lot of people hadn't heard of it before. Not everyone is glued to this forum or music blogs.
