Underrated Prince gems

Out of the zillions of prince tunes (counting ones he
wrote for other people, too) Here's songs i think are
underrated gems. See if anybody agrees or has GEMS of their
own:

when we're dancing close and slow: seductive as get out
and very simple. (i've done this one on guitar-its so simple
but what he does with it...mannn)

the QUEStion of U...under the cherry moon (the movie was
AWFUL..but not the song...check out the jazzy piano by the
kid...) Still Waiting (from the second album)
Girl (the b-side to AMERICA) 17 days (SOLID tune...i love
prince's line at the coda" why don't you answer the phone,
baby!!!"
Pink CASHMERE (the guitar & string combo can't be beat)
MUTINY (he did this live a few times)
SIlly GAME (from RAVE) HORNY toad (delirious sounding and
good) GOTTA STOP MESSIN' about...(cool,quirky,and irrestible. anybody got any other ones?

Strange But True. Nifty little song from Rave. But then, much of Rave is underrated in my opinion.

Pheromone. Hmmm. maybe it's not underrated, it seems to get at least *some* attention.. but not enough. It's a classic, should be up there w/ the most adored P songs, in my opinion. so dark and funky and groovy.

Shockadelica. sorta gets overlooked by the huge volumes of brilliant material from that era. but it's so funky. and spunky. the girl must be a witch - BITCH.

Blue Light. People seem to hate this song. WHY? what did it ever do to u? it's not Anna Stesia, true enough. Yet... it's a cool little fun melodic pop song. I like it. Why wasn't it a single?

Sex Me Baby, Sex Me Not. Sexual Suicide. Kinda same vibe. something to do with... sex. very funky.

Moonbeam Levels. Highly admired unreleased track. Still not enough attention. Or is it that I'm just obsessed w/ this song right now. could be.

I Wonder. another great unreleased track.

I agree with Still Waiting (a song screaming for a country cover).

I agree with you on both The Come album and The Family. I love every song on The Family's album. It contains my favorite version of Nothing Compares 2 U.

If we're talking about underated songs by those of us considered Prince freaks, I can't understand the lack of love for Blue Light and Arms of Orion, both of which often get slated on the Org.

Personally, I also love stuff like Gotta Stop Messin About, Feel U Up, My Computer, into the light, Lovesign etc etc. Tracks that I love that no-one mentions - but does that make them underated, I doubt it

Love all the songs u guys mentioned. I'm one of the rare breed that loves 99.99% of what prince has produced both released and unreleased. U will never see me on here talking about how "shit" some song is. I'm always struck by how many of the fans here really only like a certain style or time period of his. I love it all from soft & wet to Xpedition. It's really great to be able to connect with so much of his music. I feel a little sorry for the folks that have so many songs/albums that they don't like. Especially the one that can't get past 1988. They are really sad cases.

tricky99 and grandebelle...your choices and your words
are DOWN and deep.

yes tricky99 you're right. a lot of people can get a bit
negative about PRN's material-which is cool...but to me
i'm the type of fan who likes an artist who is versatile.
and that's PRN.

he's the ultimate in doing a lot of styles well.

other gems: legrind-a groove that just won't quit!
rock hard in a funky place
we can funk-the one with the MIko weaver guitar at the fade
manic monday-bangles (he did this one with VANITY,too)

forever in my life-the sign o times movie version-
gospely,superb guitar work by PRN!
another lonely xmas
