Hidden stuff in "Purple Rain" movie? I'm sure it's been asked before... but in Purple Rain, in the scene when appolonia is listening to the recording that prince has of a girl crying backwards... there is spoken dialogue that is also reversed... does anyone know what is being said on that recording?
While on the topics of recorded backwards stuff... during the live concert on the official release of Price live there is a part where backwards dialogue is played and heard during the concert, does anyone know what is being said here??? I'm just curious.  Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see

I'm not referring to the end of "darling nikki" i mean it's played as part of a segue piece during the concert...
the other thing is a backwards dialogue that's played during the movie "Purple Rain"... watch it again, you'll see which scene I mean... it's obvious it's backwards, but I don't know what it says. Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see

I think that drum loop with the girl crying, is one of the most amazing pieces of music Prince has ever created. It is the same loop in 'When doevs cry'
Also, the piece of music after is amazing too. I assume this is an instrumental version of 'God' though the vocal version only sounds vaguely like it. ******************************************** | |

Are you guys talking about the part when Appolonia comes to Prince's room for the first time and the tape is playing of the girl crying reversed? If so, is the name of that song "God"? The version I have on 12' doesn't sound like that one, though. It must be a different version in the movie, huh? | |

No,no..I love that drum loop with the girl crying. But, I'm talking about the instrumental piece of music, afterwards, when Prince and Appollonia are getting frisky. Someone recently posted a very interesting thread about the background masking in Shortberry Strawcake. He even had some deciphered lyrics. I tried reversing that one a long time ago and I just couldn't make out a lick of it. I am certain there are lyrics being sung but they are mixed so far back that you'd need software to isolate the vocal frequency and block out the rest of the frequencies to hear it. I was surprised at the few lines the poster had deciphered...
Anyone else try this and get more of the lyrics? | |

I remember back masking a tape recording of that part in Purple Rain and discovering that the voice was Jill Jones crying and saying, "No, I don't want to break up"
I then accepted it as part of the sub-sub-sub plot of the relationship between The Kid and Jill. Or I could be incredibly wrong and just plain silly... Welcome to "the org", nayroo2002… life, it ain't real funky unless it's got that pop |

Or I could be incredibly wrong and just plain silly... wow... now that's some interesting shit... a long time ago I tried recording that on a normal tape (remember those, before cd?) well, then i turned the tape around and played it again. When you did this whatever you had on the tape played backwards -- this is also how I figured what was being said at the end of 'Darling Nikki' --- unfortunately when you do this, the clarity on the recording diminishes by about 50% since you're not meant to listen to the tape on the other side. Anywhooo... I couldn't make out what the conversation was, especially since prince and appolonia's voices are prominent in the recording. but that jill jones thing, that's pretty cool... does anyone else know about this or have any idea how to get it recorded. I have purple rain on dvd and would like to capture that dialogue on my computer and somehow reverse it to try to see what is being said. P.S. -- the song that is played, the instrumental, when prince and appolonia are getting intimate IS the instrumental of 'God', and yes, it can be found on Kazaa. it's a very beautiful song, one that is up on par with alexa de paris -- i think it's better!!! check it out.
