With all the dancing and moving around that everybody had to do, I don't know how that stage didn't cause major injuries. I'm pretty sure I would have sprained my ankle every night on that thing.

I would love to see clear photos like this for the SOTT stage too.

It's funny it doesn't look like that in the video, but on the other hand I could never figure out the structure of the whole thing from it. I'm wondering about the things written and drawn on the floor: obviously u couldn't c them from the audience, so what was this all about???

How many times in '88 was the concert not played in the round? This must have been one of only a few times.

According to princevault at least the ones in Oslo, Rotterdam and Frankfurt, with the stage set at the 'long end / side' of the stadium.

I think the other photo's are from the Glam Slam video shoot, which was a slightly different stage than the actual Tour.

It does look like a board game--an expensive one! I also would love to see pics like these for the SOTT stage. Thanks for sharing.

Ah, my first Prince concert. Charlotte in 1988. Drove 3 hours from Raleigh to see this show. It was phenomenal. It reenergized my love for the album, after an entire summer spent playing it non-stop.

Funny thing is... neither of the other 2 people I went with are in my life now. Weird what 25 years can do to your life.

I don't have a photographic memory
But I saw lovesexy live in november 1988, and from what i recall the stage was not all painted up as in Pic #2
But it does remind me of the music video

Steve Parke posted the 2nd pic on his facebook page awhile back. He said that was the stage for the Glam Slam video shoot, not the touring stage. I know that all the Japan shows were not done "in the round", not sure about other places though.

Steve Parke should put out a book with all the Photos he's taken of Prince over the years along with photos he's taken that relates to him. I would buy that in a heartbeat!
