I hope this story inspires someone.

I want to thank Prince for inspiring me. He is one of the main reasons I ever wanted anything to do with music. (I'm 13years old by the way!) Today I sat down in front of my piano and I played the Star Spangled Banner. I have never attempted to play the song before and I just did it all by ear. I can barley play an instrument at all, and here I am playing the star spangled banner on my first try. I'm finally accomplishing my dreams because of Prince, and I am thankful for it.

cool Keep it up! BTW My brother plays many instruments, but is an expert on keyboards and piano. He plays for a living and can play almost anything on the spot. It's a great gift to have.

Great! That's how Prince did it. Just sit at the piano and play the tunes you know. Keep it up & a few years from now the Purple One may have some serious competition on his hands... thumbs up!

Favoritesong: thank you for sharing your story here on prince.org. We're very proud of you! Playing by ear is not easy and especially to be able to do that at your age. What better way to honor Prince than with the gift of music. cool . And what an accomplishment it is to teach yourself the Star Spangled Banner. Keep it up!

I honestly cannot decide on my favorite Prince songs, I love all his work.
