Ahhh... my first Prince concert was during this tour.
Needless to say, I was blown away. "He's a musician's musician..."

I thought the only photographer in those days was Jeff Katz?

Yeah this must be the set of the Glam Slam video but not the stage of the Lovesexy tour.

You know what, you're absolutely right. I was confusing Steve Parke with Jeff Katz. But man, wouldn't it be great to have a coffee table book of all those photos?
One day, if we're lucky.

Wow! I've never seen the Lovesexy stage except for what little you see in Livesexy and the Glam Slam video... thank you so much for sharing!

So beautiful, it makes me wanna cry!!!! I too saw it in November of '88 (in Denver, Colorado) and it was the BEST, most magical, concert I have ever been to. I wish ALL of his shows had been like that. I did have NPG Music Club seats that were FRONT ROW for "Musicology" - but it just wasn't the same as being even mid-way back from that "Lovesexy" stage. And others, like during 'Emacipation' were also not in the round. So that is why "Lovesexy" IS THE ONE... I will always fondly remember. [Edited 9/7/13 12:09pm]

LOVESEXY would have been a better concert film than S.O.T.T.

One of his best concerts. Prince was the 'Twerkmaster' back then, i.e., during the scene while singing'Darling Nikki' in Purple Rain, and carrying his style of twerking to the Lovesexy tour and took it to another level. These younguns today think they just discovered twerking. Just sayin'.

The basketball court can be seen in the top of the picture in the ariel stage shot.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
