Paisley Park now I'm in the Minni right now for a little Labor Day vacation and went by Paisley. The place was absolutely DEAD and looked like NOONE was onsite. Does anybody know what the current status is of the facility?

It's Labor Day weekend. That could be part of the reason.

Private residence? And therefore would be like any other home when the owner is away. Like yours is now?

I find it hard to believe that the lights only et turned on when he's in town. There is alot of equipment in there that must be kept up to par.

Probably neglected as he probably fired the cleaning staff for talking about his imperial highness. It sad as it may have been revolutionary in 1987, now in the 2010s, looks hopelessy dated and overgrown, no doubt like his career.
I reckon by 2030 it will be demolished and there will be a petrol station or a Carls Jr on the site. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I live close to Paisley Park and I can confirm that it's that way 90% of the year. Every now and then you may see a couple of cars parked there, but that's about it. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

Impossibe as we call them gas stations here and there are no Carl's Jr. in Minny "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

Since Prince barely live in Minny anymore, I don't think you can call it stalking "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

Why does he keep it then if it's dormant? I think Prince needs to learn the Buddhist values of non-attachment. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Yes, before then this year, not more than a couple days here and there this year. There's your 10%.... "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

The guy wants to be able to work when he wants to work. What is he supposed to do? Pay for studio time or rent rehearsal space when he's in Minneapolis? Take a chance on someone getting hold of his work and leaking it?
It's probably just more economical for him to keep the place. He'll never get out of it what he's sunk into it. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I don't particularly have an opinion on this one way or another but maintaining a huge building like that just to rehearse and record once in a while seems totally decadent and wasteful. That's why I asked the question; maybe there's something I don't know. Coz if he's keeping it just as a personal studio then that's totally crazy. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

No, it's conditional judgement. If he's really just keeping it as a personal studio (or even as a financial asset) then yeah, I think it's misguided, especially for someone with spiritual pretensions. But maybe there's something I don't know..... “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
