"chaos and creation in the backyard" is still one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years,

coming way ahead of most prince albums released in that time. but still, i don't think that a

colaboration would really be a good fit. i just can't see the point.

Generally, if not ALWAYS, people who deem Paul McCartney and other legends as irrelevant HAVE NOT listened to their work. Whenever I hear people say many legends are irrevelent I ask immediately - do you know their albums? - the answer's always NO. It may not be the case for the fellow above, maybe he has good reasons, it's just something that came to mind when I read it. It generally happens.

I think so. There's usually a consensus regarding an artist's period of relevancy, and other phases of his career are therefore considered irrelevant. Same with Bowie in the 70's and Prince in the 80's. Just like Bowie and Prince after their golden age, McCartney has released some amazing work in the 80's and beyond.

Paul's songwriting and Prince's funk: could be an interesting combination!

It's a great idea.I've always felt that Prince should do more collaborations with 'real' legends, instead of all these young proteges like 3rdEyeGirl.

I hope this NEVER happens!

McCartney and the Beatles are the most overated pile of crap ever and even if you take my feelings out of it McCartney has been treading water for 30odd years.

I'd like to see Bootsy Collins in the band and Nile Rogers, McCartney wouldnt compliment Prince's style anyway plus he's a proper dickhead.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Somehow I see this bringing out the worst in both parties. Collaborations are often terrible unless you do like Elvis Costello did with McCartney, The Roots, Allen Toussaint, Burt Bacharach, The Brodsky Quartet...and do a lengthy collab, not just a single song.
