This is why you don't let Prince talk to your woman on the phone

With that hypnotizing and disarmingly seductive speaking voice, would you ever?

Is everybody wet?

I was half way through the interview before I realized this was an old interview. I thought it was odd he didn't go into that "time is a trick" b.s. when his birthday was mentioned, but I still didn't catch on until Pince mentioned the "new" movie featuring Jerome Benton. I was about to get hype then I thought, wait a minute... biggrin

WOW, have heard that in YEARS! Thanks.

.

VERY cool interview.

And this was when we NEVER heard him, so it just adds to its awesomeness.

.

Love it how he corrects the DJ and says he has 320 songs in the Vault. Wonder how he would answer that question nowadays.

.

cool

I heard this for the first time LIVE...stuck in a traffic jam on Jefferson Ave. in my brother's car, leaving Belle Isle and pretty much lost my damn mind...according to witnesses. giggle

What can I say...it was Prince talking to Detroit's own ONE AND ONLY ELECTRIFYING MOJO - the lone DJ that single handedly put Prince on the motherfucking map in the D!!!! excited

Back THEN Prince could have called and talked to me on the phone - any day, any time, any where - about any damn thing!!!! falloff

[Edited 8/30/13 22:09pm]

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

This was super nice... I've never heard this interview before. He sounds so comfortable and at ease talking to this DJ–so unlike his interviews with reporters. It must be that he was feeling the love from Mojo and all the other "purple people" in Detroit. cool

Been listening to a lot of protégé music lately, to the point where I was becoming acutely aware that I’d never gone so long without hearing Prince’s voice since I first started listening to his music. It feels like I’m outside my comfort zone, like I’ve wandered too far from home. This interview was right on time; got me feeling centered and grounded again.

The sound of his voice tends to have a profoundly calming effect on me, soothing the heart and spirit. Even his speaking voice is a lullaby. I’m so relaxed right now I could lie down and sleep for 14 hours straight.

That show was legendary. I don't think the world will ever witness a radio host such as Mojo. Thank god for the people who documented his shows & posted them on youtube.
