Your 2013 playlist

I put together a playlist of the recent stuff. I limited it to stuff that was actually for sale/official download to keep from getting bogged down and being over-long with instrumentals, rehearsals, and superfluous material that doesn't gel b

1. Screwdriver
2. Fixurlifeup
3. Rock n Roll Love Affair (Extended)
4. Extraloveable (Reloaded)
5. Ain't Gonna Miss U When U're Gone
6. Breakfast Can Wait
7. Boyfriend
8. Groovy Potential

It flows together pretty well as a 37 minute album/EP. I left off "That Girl Thang" because it's so clealy a quick demo and doesn't really fit very well with the rest of the material.

What's your playlist of the recent stuff?

01. Screwdriver

02. Rock n Roll Love Affair

03. Same Page, Different Book

04. Breakfast Can Wait

05. Extraloveable

06. Boyfriend

07. Ain't Gonna Miss U When Ur Gone

08. Groovy Potential

i didn't include FixUrLifeUp since i can't stand that song,

but i did include Same Page, Different Book because it

is one of my favorit songs this year.

.

but to make this playlist really work we need 2 more

rock songs to balance out all the rnb on here and at

least 1 more killer full band ballad.

.

one more really weird song would work well too lol

.

well, to be totally honest, the only tracks i would put

on a self compiled album, if we had enough tracks to

pick from would be:

.

01. Screwdriver

02. Rock n Roll Love Affair

03. Same Page, Different Book

04. Groovy Potential

05. Breakfast Can Wait

06. Ain't Gonna Miss U When Ur Gone

.

those are, imo, all real good tracks that i actually like

to listen to quite often.

.

"boyfriend" and "extraloveable" (and Girl Thang) are

ok, but nothing i'd want on an album. Boyfriend just

sounds like a demo and Extraloveable, i liked more in

it's 2011 version (with the instrumental extended bit

glued at the end)

I love this playlist:
Plectrum Electrum
Screwdriver
Fixurlifeup
Groovie Potential
Breakfast Can Wait
Boyfriend
Ain't Gonna Miss U
Same Page, Different Book
Extraloveable
This is What It Feels Like
That Girl Thing
Live Out Loud
Rnr Love Affair
Laydown

I guess I should have left Laydown out, but I like it. To me this playlist flows quite well, and songs I hadn't thought much about, like Same Page, Different Book, sound a lot better as part of a playlist than they do on their own. Which makes me think that what he said about not releasing albums anymore, only jams, would be a terrible move. Luckily it's Prince, so by the time the interview was published he had already changed his mind...

I agree. I also hope we'll get Big City and U Will B (maybe as part of Superconductor Reloaded, if that's still going ahead...)

I have these songs listed under "3rdEyeGirl/NPG" playlist.

The studio version of "The Breakdown" doesn't move me at all so unless there is something closer to the live version I hope it gets lost on the way to a final version of an album. Also, I like the live version of "2 Young 2 Dare" moreso than the studio so I'm hoping it gets reworked with a more rock feel.

Any playlist I make of this year's releases just feels incomplete without "The Breakdown". It's like getting Ready For The World's greatest hits without "Oh Sheila". lol
