Breakfast Can Wait would be a hit today.

I was just listening to this tune, and thinking to myself, that this might be one of Prince's finest R&B grooves. It's a smooth mature jam that doesn't try to do too much, yet hits on every level of the senses.

And the lyrics are perfect!

I've long realized that we won't be hearing his newer tunes on contemporary radio anytime soon if ever again. But I truly believe that this song could have been a top 10 single if released on the airwaves.

I just wonder who the inspiration was. ;)

What I appreciate most is Prince's cleverness. Prince isn't afraid to let his lyrics mature. He's not trying to compete with the smut on the airwaves. He's a grown up, and isn't trying to "shock and awe" anymore.

As I mature, I appreciate that. If I want to hear "Head", I can explore that era. But if I want sophisticated grooves... Which I do at this stage... I'm getting it.

Madonna can try to be 25 all she wants. I'm happy with Prince staying true to himself.

really great song, from the laid back groove right down to the tweeked

vocals at the end. most of the songs released through 3rdEyeGirl have

been fine. the prince songs, that is.

.

i'm still not too keen on either "LOL" or "FixUrLifeUp" but the rest are a

fine bunch of tracks. "That Girl Thang" is perhaps a bit boring/repetitive

but it was recorded on the spot and released a few hours later, so for

what it is, that one is a very cool track too.

.

Screwdriver

Rock N Roll Love Affair

Same Page, Different Book

Breakfast Can Wait

Extraloveable

Groovy Potential

Ain't Gon' Miss U When Ur Gone

Boyfriend

.

about 2 more rock tracks and a knock out ballad and we've got a new

album right there

Isten, RnR Love Affaair reminds me a lot of Take Me With U, but I dig it. It grew on me quickly. It's a happy sounding tune, and it sounds like P was in a good place when he wrote it. wink

i liked it when it was first released, then i quickly started to dislike it and didn't

listen to it anymore. but now i love it again. especially the 'extended' version

from the single. the remixes are fun to, from the ones on the single to that

RNR Remix 7 on the 3rdEyeGirl website.

RnR Love Affair, The remix kicks the originals ass. Other than that, 3rdeyegirl era is shaping up to be pretty good.

I love this tune, shows his clever daring is still intact. The Andy/3rd Eye era is showing him rejuvenated and in a playfully creative mode. We need that album(s) soon!

I really love this song.

And it sticks.

Maybe it's to different that it didn't hit the charts? I really love it and want to hear it again and again.

I think 'hits' are the result of a get together of a few CEO's of radiostations, music stations and the big labels. They go trough the lists of favorites by a few people and than the big labels will make sure their artists get the airplay and tvplay to push them.

It's up for sale again on 3rdeyegirl.com; if someone buys it let us know if it is a different version or if the sound quality is better than the other one

No it could not.
Contrary what people say, mainstream radio hasn't hit this low yet. It's nowhere near as bad some of you make it out to be.

let's hope a fourth person buys it and lets us know here on the site

that it's the exact same song in the exact same quality, because 3

mentions on the new thread doesn't seem to cut it for most people.

Perhaps it's up for sale again now that they gained so many new Twitter followers. Hoping for some extra sales...

It seems to get picked up now.

Also, the new cover seems to get apreciation.

And having Chapelle's inpersonating picture as a cover gets a lot of respect.

Funny how people posted it on my fb, praising Prince his good sense of humour.

So, I told them Prince always has been funny......

I really like this song. When it first came out, a few dj's really liked it and gave it airplay.

However, only on DJ (Giel Beelen) on the mainstream radio station gave it airplay. The rest not.

Maybe, not that Prince got a lot of media attention after his Paradiso gig, they will pick it up.

You never know.

For me, nothing changed. Hit or no hit, I really like the song.

I only heard the preview. Yet it was clear that the production was bad, the vocoder-autotune vocal thingy sounded like someone trying to play catch-up and the lyrics were better than most of Prince's new songs. I know it was mastered, perhaps even mixed by a pro, and Prince tried to make the beat like a master's class next level track, but the ingredients just aren't there for me to think the full track was going to be woth a listen.

If this song was a 'proper' single, released with some actual promotion and hype,I think that it would make some noise. It's a very good song.

Yes Prince has a sense of humour but it's maybe different to what people think? This is quite a nice love song and he puts this stupid face as the cover which undermines the purpose of the song. This may have nothing to do with him taking himself not too seriously but rather not taking the song seriously. If he really didn't take himself so seriously, he would have put LPP or something that is actually satirical on the cover. Dave Chapelle's skit just reinforced the branding and added to his pimp image.
