Prince Is So Full of S***

I love the dude but you can't take anything he says seriously. Here he is 2013 tweeting and selling his latest single through the 3rd Eye Girl website and whatnot after he not too long ago said that "the internet is completely over". He's funny.

I know we all know this but he's so full of s***.

I think his last magazine interview with V Magazine where he talked about not wanting to have communication with the outside world is Prince being flaky at his best. On one hand, it's cool that Prince is tweeting and not some bogus parody account. However, the distance from his fans and the general public is what made him different from other celebs and cooler.

You're right. Prince's mystery is one of his greatest assets. He should stay from twitter because all it does is reveal the crazy and irrational side of people.

That is exactly what he said and he is right. I doubt he is making much money from his site but in the end it is better than letting I-Tunes get most of the cash. He has young people working for him and I am sure they convinced him to give it another try.

did you read the interview in the Guardian beginning '80's.

He was done touring.

He gives answers as he feels that day.

And another day, something else happens and he's adjust to that.

Good to know that we can count on it that every word you ever pronounced still is valid for you this day. No change for you.

I would hope that his ideas/opinions about the web would change with the times as the net is continuing to change. One of the things that sucked about NPGMC was it took forever to DL a single MP3 of low bit rate but nowadays majority of us can download a FLAC in minutes. Things change. Streaming in HD, uploading HD video all possible now but not possible back when.

What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

When P said the Internet was 'dead', I kinda felt he meant that it was/is soulless.

He can speak through his music.

No need for interviews. Just results in another drama, every time.

Exactly. If I say, "it's kinda dead in here. Where's everybody?" Am I talking to a Zombie Jill Jones? No. It never was literal statement. I mean that the club/the Internet/the radio/whatever is dull, slow, boring. Clearly, that's what was meant by Prince, but people are idiots and believe whatever they read.

When Prince stated that the internet was dead i don't believe he meant literally, I think he was just saying that nuthing new or exciting was going on with it at the time...everybody knows that it's just a communication/social/educational tool for the most part nuthing much going on per se other than touch screens and faster pc's.... and yeah u can download stuff but that's gotten old u just excpect it.... The wow factor has long gone....so i kinda agree with him.

You could also argue that it's just where society is now. And that remaining too cut off from society might render him out of touch or at least less relatable. That combined with an increasingly fickle audience might hurt his public perception, and possibly his future success.

also, the number of followers on twitter is now bigger on his account than

the number of subscriptions he ever had to his various sites. plus it's way

more easy to get out word of a new single/video this way. just one tweet

and bam, you've just marketed your new single to 150,000 people who

are at least slightly interested in what you're doing.

people are calling him a sell out and fickle but i just think that's a clever

tool to market his product. he would be a fool not to take advantage. and

in the end it's a win-win for us here since more mainstream attention is

going to make him want to throw more product out there as long as this

huge group of people are taking note.

Yes.

It are his fans who have kept him alive on the internet, when he declared it death.

And friends of fans pick up on the fb posts.

I think the current model, selling through his website on his own terms and doing gigs in small venues on his own terms, works well.

It's more peaceful to adopt a working style that fits your character.

Trying to fit your personality in a non compatible environment is just a waste of energy and creates frustration.

This seems to work for now. Go with the flow.
