I think Prince is having a great time playing with Donna, Ida and Hannah.. He is really enjoying playing with those h-o-t babes..... (and I don't blame him lol)...

At last glance the current lineup is all of 3rd Eye Girl, Cassandra, Shelby, Liv, Elisa and the horn section. If I missed someone anyone feel free to correct me.

I think Prince is aware that 3RD EYE GIRL has more fans than the current NPG. For one, the current NPG seems to be a revolving door of hired guns as musicians and they come and go sporadically. With 3RD EYE GIRL they are youthful and vibrant and they are only 3 people in his backing band. Also, they are relatively new, so fans want to know more about them, what their musical backgrounds are and their chemistry is palpable.

I don't know if he's aware but I'm really digging the 3rdEye shows. Didn't like the Montreux shows with the big band very much, there seemed to be way too much focus on the horns.

I think these people are hi profile professionals, aware of the fact that they're musicians for hire and that Prince will chose who he plays with or change his line-up whenever it pleases him, and that they're beyond silliness such as being jealous of other musicians. The days when a musician would believe Prince'd keep him/her forever and go into ego trips are long gone.

Let's see 5 years from now if Donna and Hannah are still around...

If a line up survives without any changes for 2 CD releases then that's a long time in the world of Prince. We might see 3rd Eye Girl make it thru 2014 as a unit. The NPG has basically become a revolving door of musicians of late. Only Ida, Cassandra and the backup singers have weathered the changes since the beginning of the Welcome 2 America shows. No fan should get too attached to anyone for too long. spare yourself the pain when there is a change and there will be a change!

I think Shelby is in the NPG since 2006...didn't she start with the 3121 Las Vegas concerts? Liv Warfield followed soon after her...so they've been around a long time as NPG members!

Jealousy is a form of hatred...like the type seen by some here towards Dr. Funkenberry's apparent preference by Prince, as opposed to the org.

Prince is way above that, as are the members of the NPG who are grateful for the platform he has shared with them.

The question should be: are some orgers jealous that Prince values musicians and vocalists of all backgrounds, as opposed to those who resemble what they see in the mirror.

And I hope they stay together for a while.

They seem to bring out the best in eachother. And that is a very valuable thing to cherish.

Praxis, (the band) sux. Bill Laswell is overrated in ways that cannot be overstated. Praxis, (the org member) may be onto something, though I wouldn't put Prince or his band members above anything since you don't know them. Prince has been known to exhibit jealous behavior in the past and at times appear to be rather petty. Perhaps that's different now, but who knows? I'd love to know how YOU know.

i prefer the npg over 3rd eye gals havent heard nothing from them yet that turns me near the on point.long as prince happy with whomever im happy though but im not paying no money to c 3rd eye girl

I prefered the first show with the horns to the 3rd one with 3rd Eye Girl. The second was kinda like a weaker version of the 1st one.

I'm not so much into Praxis but it's only one of dozens of Bill Laswell projects, covering almost every musical genre ever created on this earth (unlike Prince, contrarly to what many believe). His work as a whole is so gigantic, so unique, so full of diversity and so creative... I can't see how that guy could be overrated, ever

Current NPG are no revolving door. They are all on retainer for over a year now. They may not have played a lot of shows, but they practiced and recorded al lot in the past year (I know one of them socially. I can't say who, cause that might cause the person trouble).
