It's a hard question, especially on the definition of what's a romantic ballad itself. There are some slow songs of love thematic, but of angst feeling, like How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore. There are romantic songs that are not slow motion, but pop, like Raspberry beret. And there are slow motion/ballad melody songs that don't have romantic lyrics, like Power fantastic and There is lonely. I'm not sure if Purple Rain could be considered a ballad because of its ambyguous lyrics.

My three favourites are:

Purple rain

The beautiful ones

How come u don't call me anymore

Since I'm not sure about Purple Rain and How come u don't call me anymore being exactly ballads, I'm going with The beautiful ones.

Eye luv u but eye don't trust u anymore, Do u lie and Electric intercourse should be on the list.

Incense and candles should be out of the list.

By the way, I wouldn't say "I Wish U Heaven" and "The Love We Make" are romantic ballads. They're more spiritual songs, "I Wish U Heaven" not even a slow jam in my opinion.

I know the romantic and the spiritual, even the sensual and the spiritual, aren't easy to separate in Prince's world, but I definitely wouldn't consider the songs mentioned to be romantic.

I might have gone for "The Beautiful Ones", but the second part of that track is so intense and aggressive that I consider it to be something else than a "slow jam", "ballad" etc.
