Paradiso Compassion...left me on a high

After having fulfilled my official work duties today I began my drive home, which allowed me the opportunity to explore the Paridiso Show #2 I have been keen to hear.

Now... I realise that there may be an element of 'the latest thing' at play to keep in mind, but I feel compelled to say that this was a truly enjoyable listen experience. As I made my way along the M4, I was treated to a magical performance. Such energy, feeling and clear enjoyment was obvious in Prince's voice, his guitar and his attitude.

Oening with "The Breakdown", I think Prince has unleashed a gem in this track. I'm not always one for the ballads, but this track has appeal up there with his best in the category. "Stratus" featured some terrific guitar presence, and "The Love We Make" easily makes my top three tracks of the show. "So Far So Pleased" has long been a personal favourite of mine and so i was excited to hear this seldom played song. Excitement was mixed with undecidedness however as I felt the song would still benefit from the original lead line in the arrangement. "The Max" was another highlight I enjoyed... as would have been apparent to the fellow traffic cattle alongside at the red light, undoubtedly wondering who the mad man beside them was drumming and strumming on the steering wheel. "Bambi" is testimony to what a true rocker Prince is at heart...a funky rocker as he prefers. After all these years it still holds more power than anything getting around from so called rock acts these days. "Cause & Effect" as I have previously mentioned, is once again proving itself as a top shelf live track with serious punch.

In conclusion, and relevant to the topic listed by SpiritOtter about thanking the bootleggers...this listening experience reinforces my love of Prince music and how sharing such shows are so very important. This honestly brightened my day and by shows' end...I was on a high...I hope Prince realises thats all I'm after.

Thank you.

Yes, I'm still on a high too.

And it's great that you can hear the intensity and energy of the nigth.

It was magical.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

What's the sound quality of this gem like? I've been a tad dissapointed with some of the recent shows.

Little? Yeah, right. It might be little but it's loud

Without being able to speak authoritively on fidelity factors etc...so far as audio quality is concerned, it's brilliant. Good lows, crisp highs and nothing competing to be heard. Nice drums, clear vocals and even instrumentation throughout. Hope that sheds some light on my impression of the sound quality.
