This song is so smoove, I can't help but think all his blacks matched that day. nod

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Sorry, my dear - but this craps all over Act of God. lol

Maybe in your mind, but then again, you probably think that 'The Gold Experience' is one of his best albums...

It's better than Lotus Flower!

Okay, now I've heard the whole song. I'm not really excited about this. It's a nice breezy outtake, but that's about it. His vocals sound rough.

The Org must be getting desperate, because this is the same Org that dissed 'Act Of God' (from 20ten) and the brilliant 'Lotusflow3r' album and now is praising this.

I think that Prince is releasing songs that are not intended for release in any other form.

Songs like 'Rock & Roll Love Affair', 'Screwdriver', 'Big City' and 'FixUrLifeUp' deserve to be on an album... not so sure about this.

There are elements that I like... the instrumental breakdown toward the end, and the interplay between the guitar and horns...

Act of God sounds like the crap Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross were doing in the late '80s.

It's been over 12 hours for me. Still waiting on the download email. No response from the "support" email either. I did get the account confirmation email. And, yes, I've checked spam, not there either.

If I don't have it when I get off work tomorrow I'm contacting paypal and canceling the order.

confused

I got mine finally a couple hours later after this post. Not sure why it took so long as previous songs the download showed up immediately after purchase. Hope you finally got yours.

As for the song, its simply ok. I HATE autotune with a passion...but its sorta bareable here. I do like the horns. Its ok filler for my 2013 playlist.

Yeah, got it. So, the confirmation for my account came to my email. The download link went to my wife's email because hers is the one connected to our paypal account.

The thing is, my email that I used to set up my account is the only email I have given to 3rdEyeGirl, and it's the one they've sent EVERY. OTHER. EMAIL. TO. The only emails I've gotten at my wifes address are the ones Paypal sends.

I asked 3rdEye's support why they sent the link to her address but haven't received a response yet.

Now this is closer to a real Prince song. It's got some serious groove cred. going for it and that trademark Prince Groove outtro that's been missing for like years...

I think it would make a great instrumental. The lyrics/song concept/melody sound pretty lame to me. He should've taken more time do develop a better song.

Exactly!

It has some elements that lead you to believe that it could be a classic, then it kind of drifts into something....else.....

My 3rdEyeGirl account is in my name, but Paypal's in my wife's--the same email for both, but of three emails from 3rdEyeTunes, 2 emails used her name (only the account confirmation was to me). The Paypal was (which I understand), but so were the order confirmation and the download link.

Cool groove...cool breakdown....Even the horns work here (better than the "Extraloveable" re-working)...

Yes, I remember saying that to myself about R&R Affair, LOL... But this time I don't have to. This is a groovy tune that has potential.

"We've got the groovy potential.."

"Get up so we can get down..."

"Your body's like a movie..."

Am I listening to the same song y'all are listening to, because for the life of me I can't see how this is a good song, at all. And no, I'm not comparing it to the Revolution era nor any other. On its on it simply is a mediocre 7 minutes of light jazz pop with uninteresting, cliche lyrics and simple melodies. It's MUZAK. But hey, elevators need new music too.

I like it. It's a nice change of pace. Fat late 1970's snare and all.

I feel a slight vibe of "Song of the Heart" and "Everywhere" with this one.

Why can't we just dig a new song without it having to be as good as his glory years?

Ah. Well, I actually love watching the grass grow.

I could spend dayzz lying in a field, watching the grass grow, birds fly over, ants working their asses off and butterlfy showing off their wings.....

That might explain why I love this song.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.
