Yeah, well, it depends on how old one is and how long one has been trading and purchasing bootlegs. I could say that I have traded for much more than I have purchased, but that's beside the point. However, if one was collecting bootlegs long before the internet, which I was, then there was rarely any way of not paying for some of the bootlegs that one obtained. Also, since the mere possession of bootlegs is, by definition, immoral and illegal, it doesn't really matter how one obtains them. And, finally, in some cases, especially in the past, it was just easier to purchase bootlegs from reliable sources than to trade or scavenge for them. Today, I have a few more reliable sources for current bootlegs, but for a few things that I want it is just easier for me to purchase from a reliable source. However, whether I am trading for them, simply downloading them, or purchasing them, it's all "fucked up" because it's all illegal and immoral. But, I'm just as selfish as the next person so I get them because I enjoy them, especially live shows.

That's kind of unfair, because there are people who love his music, have seen him multiple times, and really consider themselves "big fans". I met one recently. She was with her daughter at Sheila E's show and we struck up a conversation... By the time we were done talking, she admitted that she thought she was a big fan because she had all of the commercial releases and had been to a few shows...

Not everyone spends his/her time hanging on here, or searching for every bit of extra they can get...

While I am still surprised that a lot of people have not been exposed to certain things, such as the boot being discussed in this thread, my initial post was a joke, which should have been clear by the end of my statement when I discussed paying $10.00 for it and asked why we would "quibble" over a few "pennies" when the seller wants $10,000 for it. I didn't know I needed to put a smile icon after everything to make it clear that one is joking. Furthermore, why would you care enough to respond to someone questioning your fandom? But, again, I can’t talk because I keep responding to these pathetic people who keep posting “Prince ain’t done nothing since the Eighties” threads. So, what do I know?

It's hard to tell when people are joking on here, since some of these folks get bent out of shape so easily when they think someone doesn't appreciate Prince enough.

Actually, Prince hasn't done anything since the 90's ... as any true fan knows. His biggest hits came from the 80's, but the "real good music" came in the 90's.
