Prince crushes my sX8 dreams! So much for the dream of Prince not supporting alcohol companies. The City "Winery" would be considered an alcohol company, right?
I'm just blabbing. But as a kid Prince DID make me believe it was cool to NOT drink. All signs pointed to him being against alcohol, at least to me as a kid. The fact that I heard that he banned all beer sales at concerts was enough for me. When most kids were drinking as a form of rebellion, Prince made it a form of rebellion to NOT drink. To go against the status quo.
Now, the Gett Off video was an influence in a whole other direction.

Take me 2 the vineyards of Lavaux Drink champagne from a glass with chocolate handles I'm sure there's more references 2 alcohol in his work. Might be worth a thread of its own...

Because when he opened for the Rolling Stones back in the day, the drunk fans threw beer bottles at him, so that may have played a factor in him banning alcohol at concerts, I think.

I'm quite sure alcohol has always been on sale at his uk concerts. Definitely at the O2 shows. RIP
