Prince has always been an asshole...same song, different day. He has always did these things since the 80's.

Prince does go out of his way to alienate people, I think his plan has been slowly working on me, much as I hate to say that but...there are a lot of great albums and concerts but destroying your legacy is a one way street, avoiding that is a lot easier.

I don't think the rest of 2013 is going to make up for the damage caused by his image, videos etc not being allowed to go viral.

What next? Suing radio for playing his songs? Who would be surprised?

If radio stations continually played his songs without his permission - or his publisher's(ASCAP?) permission-- then, yes, he'd probably sue them. All radio stations pay publishing fees to play songs on the air, and, therefore, he makes money from his publishing rights to all his songs he's composed - including the songs he released when he was with WB, and related artists.

Youtube - from what I've read- pays no fees at all to the artists or publishers - and makes millions of dollars each day from advertisers on their site. That sounds like highway robbery to me.

TEFLON to who?

To his fan community, sure. But not to the industry and the greater world.
He's become so marginalized around the world that almost nobody knows

who he is outside of western countries (and not all of them know much about

him).

His distribution channels have become so limited, that the most prolific artist

of his calabre can't even get an album released except through an independent

distrubtion channel [Kobalt] and that might not go well.

His last website had such a paltry signup that he abandoned it weeks after

it's lackluster, buggy launch.

He hasn't penned a hit song for anyone in ages, and the songs he now covers

were often hits by the original artists, but his versions don't even get a momment's

momment's notice from anyone outside the prince community.

He's blamed the industry, he's blamed radio, he's blamed piracy, he's blamed

his fans, ....shit, he's even blamed Madonna. This comes at a price.

The list goes on and on. Prince has paid a fair price for his douchebaggery.
I wouldn't call him teflon. I'd call him a survivor...a douchey one.
