What did he know about computers?

Exactly. Seems he wrote songs about the women he was involved with. Why would Susannah be any diffierent?
I'm also trying to figure out what she's supposed said about him to piss him off in the here and now?

The best person to write a book about Prince is Prince. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Calling her Wendy's sister! it's all strange that she still can get under his skin. I noticed "the love we make" is in the set time to time and song about Wendy's brother. Some things only make sense in Princeland. He could add "Sussanah's Pajamas" to the set and say these things and it only makes sense in Princeworld. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

If Prince were to write his own biography, it would end up being even more sanitised and selective than this was:

I also never cared for autobios through conduits. Just like if he wanted to go with stating the truth about a popular misnomer of songs, ie Susannah and state his story. The conduit will be used to settle the score but in time revisionary can then blame it on the conduits. I want Prince to write a book on Prince. No getting out because Quest or Funkenberry got it wrong. Jus like interviews. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

guess it happens to everyone. you meet someone and you just can't stop thinking about them and your imagination runs wild and you're emotionally altered from on out. something about them sparks you deep down. they fascinate but when it turns sour it turns ssssssssour! we move on, we never go back but something primal going on inside we can't always understand. 20+ years and she can still get under his skin. The only we can hope for are some good songs from. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Considering that I did not hear the spreecast, I am curious IF this is what the Doc said.
And even though I am not a purple Kool-Aid drinker, I believe what Doc says over most people here.

That's fair enough if he answers questions about his career in the way any other artist with their feet on the ground would, but that's pretty rare for Prince - it's usually wrapped up psychobabble or deflected with a comment about living in the present and not the past. . Which reminds me how many times I see the "Prince doesn't live in the past" guff spouted on here - so why anyone who says that is so hot for an official (auto)biography I don't know; can't have it both ways. . . . . bashraka said: 2 Whom It May Concern: "The Beautiful Ones" is sooo not about Wendy's sister. I read the book, but don't remember much of it now. I don't recall a lot of private information being exposed about Prince, from any of his exes who contributed to Toure's book, and if there was, it was very limited information. during that discussion, DrF discounts any of the comments/experiences shared by Susannah or Alan about their time with Prince or about Prince.

Prince should get Quincy, Nelson or Rickey to write the book or co-author with him because they have a background in music criticism and writing about popular culture. In addition, they understand the culture that he came from.
I got nothing against Isaacson but he is much to academic to write a book about Prince. I doubt he even knows who Prince is or vice versa.

She would not be any different just one of many. I think he is just tired of a old girlfriend running off at the mouth about him. I also wonder if she is not the unnamed girlfriend talking about him in Toure's book. Because that information was really private.

The Doc sez in his recap:
Prince said Questlove should write a book about me. He appreciated music and he would do it right. He said should. Not want. Should. He didn't say Questlove needs to write a book about him and DrFunkenberry should help. My name was NOT brought up at all. Questlove should write a book. Period. Questlove. Not DFunkenberry.

The OP also didn't mention, that DrF said that if Prince does write a book, the focus of the book will not be on his private life, but moreso on music, and to teach young musicians the 'ins and outs' of the music business.

No prob. Also just want to add, that whatever intimate info was shared with Toure' by any of Prince's exes for the book, that I'm glad that they didn't reveal very much, mainly because I believe whatever intimacy happens between a couple, should stay behind closed doors. However, that info really wasn't needed for the book, since the book seemed to focus more on Prince's music, and Toure's comparison of Prince's music to religion/spirituality. Toure's book, which I enjoyed overall, was interesting from a pop culture perspective but not a religious or theological perspective. Although he titles the book I Would Die 4 U, and dedicates at least a chapter to the impact of religion on Prince's music, he does not explore the impact of Jehova on Prince's music and makes only a passing reference to The Rainbow Children. How can you claim to
Toure attempts to strke an objective balance in his book by including several unflattering accounts about Prince but more often than not he comes across as a promoter rather than a journalist/biographer/critic. Also, I was bothered by the number of unidentified sources in the book, especially sources identified only as "a former girlfriend." I understand that certain individuals close to Prince don't feel comfortable going on the record about him, but after a while I started to wonder if some of these "former girlfriends" actually existed or if Toure was just using them as a creative crutch. Too many anonymous sources can cause readers to doubt a writer's credibility, which is never a good thing for the writer.

About the only thing I would be interested in reading about Prince would be like the John Lennon interview he did with Playboy just before he died where he went through every song he released and gave some insight into them - prince could do it for his tours as well and that would be interesting. Everything else - his philosophy, spirituality, personal relationships - meh

Then again, Dr. Funkenberry goes into some wrong-headed semantics about "should" vs "want" when in this cirucmstance, they mean the same thing. Because he's a dummy. And I bet you anything, deep down he thinks Prince does actually want him to write a book about him
