Sightings of obscure songs

My friend in Chicago just heard someone drive past blasting "Teacher, Teacher"...... must have been a big fan! (maybe an orger?)

Have you ever heard obscure/unreleased songs being played out in public?

I live in the UK and I heard 'Uptown' played on some random reality TV show as well as 'Dinner With Delores' in a clothes store. Also caught someone listening to 'Train' from The Dream Factory on the bus!

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

I was in a bar in Eastbourne, they were playing 'The Max', quite random. It was more of a pub then a bar actually so yeah really weird to hear that.

Also heard Money Dont Matter Tonight in co-op once...

"5 Women" in a train once. Actually, I can't remember any other time hearing music in the train than that occasion.

I used to walk through a mall on a daily basis and they had "Uptown" on their PA playlist there. Sounded really weird to hear it in that context.

They used Planet Earth the other week on BBC News 24, I think it was a tech piece on that Click program.

I started humming along to it before I realised what it was "hmmm, hmmm, hmmm..... I know that, what IS it?!" biggrin

I live in Dallas, TX and was at this great little pizza joint called Piggie Pies. I walked in with my family on a Saturday afternoon last year right in the middle of Future Soul Song being played. I was completely surprised but pleased to hear it. I winked at my girls and gave a thumbs up to the fact that Prince is on in the restaurant. It only became better as the song ended but was follwed by Sticky Like Glue! The owner or manager was playing tbe entire 20Ten album!! I spoke to the person and gave thanks and praise for playing Prince. He told me he was a HUGE fan and usually plays Prince albums if he is not listening to satalite radio.

2 days ago I was at a Subway sandwich shop and "Trust" came on in the mix.
Very cool!

I've heard "Guitar" at WAL-MART once.

I was in a comic book shop called Titan a few uears back and "So Far So Pleased"
was being played.

And last month I was shopping at Movie Trading Co in Dallas on greenville ave and heard "A Love Bizarre" (full album version) followed by "Mountains", "The Question Of U", "Kiss", "17 Days", "Come On", "The Everlasting Now", "Chelsea Rodgers", "Let's Work" and "7". The employees take turns and usually play thier own music. One of the females who works their is a Prince fan and was playing her mix cd of some of her fav Prince songs.

I heard Prince play Wasted Kisses in Vegas.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

A hiking shop on Suffolk St here in Dublin (I think it recently closed down) was playing one of the CDs from The Work bootleg a few years ago. Cool.
