Prince F***ers [Misconceptions] Listen [or read ],
I mean, damn, there are those here who actually spend money on the guys music. Should I [or anyone else who doesn't worship the guy] be considered an asshole, because I/we don't find everything Prince has done to be a "Masterpiece" []? [Edited 7/20/13 12:23pm] الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

The question isn't whether or not you have a right to like or dislike something. The question isn't whether or not you are an asshole because you don't love everything that Prince has created. The real question is: "How many times do you and others feel it necessary to submit, essentially, the same post, which is that y'all are no longer feeling Prince?"
*
Secondly, then, you become a hypocrite by being guilty of the same thing for which you claim people are doing to you, which is attack and call people negative names for liking Prince's work. I love much of what Prince has created since 2000. I'm having a blast with 2013. I love much, about ninety percent, of the work that has been released in 2013, and the quantity of output is reminding me of what it was like during the Eighties when it seemed that a new song or B-side was being released every other week or month. However, I'm not saying that to defend Prince. I’m saying it because, again, I like the work. Thus, I have no ulterior motive because I'm one of those very few people who doubt seriously that Prince reads The Org. And whether he does or not, it's no big deal to me. I don’t want to meet the dude. I just want music that I enjoy, and he’s continued to produce that.
*
So, it seems that this latest post of yours has more to do with your own internal issues because, again, how many times do you need to tell us that you are no longer feeling Prince. You're like the lying, jilted lover who keeps saying that they don't want or care about the ex-lover, but you can't stop telling us how you don't want or don't care about your ex-lover. Doesn't that behavior make you realize that there might be something wrong with you? I know y’all keep giving reasons why y’all are still here, such as “I still love the old work,” or “I love the bootlegs from the Eighties,” or “I have friends on this site.” But, honestly, y’all appear as damn fools to be posting how much y’all no longer like Prince on a fansite designed to celebrate and share admiration for his art. It would be one thing if most of your posts were simply to celebrate work from the Eighties and Nineties that you like. That would be a reasonable thing to do. But, your posts are rarely, if ever, created to celebrate, only to be negative, which, again, is insane. Dude, just walk away. The relationship ain’t working. Y’all ain’t feeling each other no’ mo. The poom-poom ain’t gettin’ you off no mo’. Go find some other poom-poom to get you off. That’s what any sane and rational person would do instead of lingering in a relationship that hasn’t been satisfying for eighteen years…Damn, you ain’t been fully satisfied with Prince’s work in eighteen years, and you are still here?!? Yeah, it’s something really wrong with y’all to continue to post here while y'all claim to hate Prince and his new work.
*
I can only hope that if I ever get to a point where Prince's music no longer moves me that I don't waste my time and the time of others on this site being negative because I want others to feel as negative as I feel. So, could you tell me how many more times you will need to create threads about how you no longer are feeling Prince before you can go on your merry way? Dude, it's so much other good poom-poom out there. Don't waste your life being bitter over a love gone bad. Go get yourself some new poom-poom. * Oh, by the way, them new "Montro-ville" bootlegs are smoking. Y'all be easy.

I hadn't really ever thought of Tittypants as being particularly negative--"spotty" is about what I figured was his feeling about the last 20 years, but that's better than the really negative views held by many people here. Yep, he does make some positive posts--and also posts that aren't clearly "positive" or "negative" but that show some other more clearly nuanced reaction to the music.
To answer your question--nope, you shouldn't be attacked (and certainly not personally) because you don't like something. And people shouldn't be attacked because they do. I'm annoyed by anyone always saying the same thing about every new piece that comes down from Paisley Park. If all someone has to contribute for each new track is "New song is just like everything else since [whatever poster's pet year is, even if it's 1958]" and then either "a masterpiece" or "a piece of crap"--well, yeah, that's useless and maybe it would be better if they either didn't say anything or took the time to figure out something else to say as well as telling us what kind of "piece" it is.
People shouldn't be attacked for their preferences--or even for their prejudices concerning Prince's later work (and it certainly seems that some people on both sides have already made up their minds before they hear a note). But they will be. | |

Yes, you are right. If you have created threads that say positive things about Prince's music, I shouldn't lump you in with the people who never have anything positive to say. And, I never want anyone to front about anything they dislike. For instance, I HATE HOUSE MUSIC and wish Prince would AVOID IT, but I have never started a thread about it and try to concentrate on the things I like rather than the things I dislike. So, if the new music doesn't move you, why not just concentrate on the music that does move you rather than spending time discussing what does not move you? I'm not that moved by most of the bootleg studio stuff from the Eighties or with the song "I Wonder U," which I hated hearing live. But, I've only mentioned that twice on this site, and both times I was only mentioning them to make a point that I don't start threads to discuss how much I hate them; I just enjoy and discuss what I like.
