It just came up in the midst of a giant shuffle, and I remembered how incredibly great it is. Remarkable, considering it's on a single with a mess of remixes sharing so much and falling so short of its greatness. Every element that bothers me on the other tracks works on this one. And vocally, Prince does some really fun things in his delivery, just little twists or changes of tone.
Come on, there's got to be at least three more people who, when they really dig deep into their souls, realize that this is, in fact, the best Prince track of the 90's. Just listen to it, headphones, nothing else to distract you. Even if it's not the best thing he did in the decade, it's pure Princely Princeness just Princing it up all over the place. | |

Well, I didn't know about that. I knew about Joy in Repetition because it was on the tracklist of the intended 1986 Crystal Ball.
