NO, it 's easier to bring 25 ppl on stage and turn yourself on auto pilot. I don 't agree rock music is easier to digest compared to funk.funk is a dancable music, rockcan go in so many directions. NPG is a very proffesional unit 3rd eye chicks play like they are on a mission, like theymean it.

A younger/newer crowd set, so more at ease with 3EG than the NPG?? [Edited 7/17/13 16:44pm] You know you are in love, when you cannot fall asleep because your reality is finally better than your dreams - Dr Seuss

Donna and Hannah played in both line ups and were considered by some to be the weakest link in NPG, but in 3rd eye girl they were more than adequate, it seems. It also seems to me that people find it easier to pick up the nuances in a rock format, while they think funk and soul sounds "all the same" (just jams). They think rock is more authentic, funk just entertainment. Finally A 22 ppl unit must take a lot more effort to rehearse than just picking up a guitar and start winging it. prince needs to play .. his huge band is sloppy bad .. strays of the world sounded like a high school orchestra trying to accompany a musical .. hanna and donna both should not be there .. rawk or not .. they are sloppy teenager sounding musicians .. prince needs to lead his big band not let them try to hold him down on their own .. they sound clunky not funky

I'd be happy seeing Prince in either the 3rdEyeGirl or big band format ... IF he plays instruments for at least some of the songs. I'm guessing one reason the third show got a better crowd reaction was that Prince actually played guitar, keys and bass (I think, it sounds like him on "Love/Raise up" - can anybody confirm he played bass on that?).Anyway, I am open to Prince experimenting with different musicians and playing whatever songs he would like, but I really want to see him play an instrument, too. Unless he has an injury he hasn't told us about, I don't wanna see him as a bandleader only.

totally!!! it's so strange seein' him without an instrument and I don't like it..

he also barely sings on the first 2 nights .. the back up singers are louder in the mix than he is and he doesn't even join them on most of the songs .. it really is like listening to glee do prince .. the problem with this method is that no one on stage is his caliber of musician .. without him holding them together it is indeed a mess .. at least with the rev they could hold their own on stage

No, I don't think he picked up the bass. But I did go out a few times for a drink (no drinks inside the auditorium), so I may have missed it.
