ATWIAD Coming to HD Tracks this week Interesting. I was expecting Dirty Mind. This will be the first release from them that wasn't one of the albums re-released on 180g vinyl.

This is great news, perhaps we'll see a decent master of SOTT in the coming months. Now THAT would be killer. © Bart Van Hemelen

MODS: Honorary sticky please - not for the ATWIAD news (surely, that would never make the 'news' at the Org) but instead for this unique moment in the Org and perhaps even Prince's history: Bart has said something entirely positive.

I never thought I'd see this day.
Also, that's cool about ATWIAD. |

I'm also surprised that they went with ATWIAD next instead of Dirty Mind. However, I did notice that when my local Best Buy closed its vinyl section, and there were only a few records left, most of them were copies of that album along with Controversy and 1999 in the racks. So perhaps those reissues didn't sell as well as Rhino expected.
In any event, this is certainly a positive development. I think it's quite likely that we will get Parade and SOTT. Can't see why they would stop with this album. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Althought this is cool and the odds of it being glitchy are slim, I will refrain until those bastards replace my glitchy The Beautiful Ones from the Purple Rain i bought from them. Still no resolution from HDTracks on this.

I just went to hdtracks and it is now available. Critique? Gracias. Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I really wish this and the next two come out on vinyl. I have Purple Rain and Controversy vinyl reissues and they sound amazing. Sign esp is screaming for this treatment.

Does any of you use mac? I've bought the tracks(along with the other albums), but I couldn't download them due to a problem in the HD downloader for some reason.
This is the message it gave me:
"Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers."
If any of you Mac savvy, help me out here.

I think this might work: go to system preferences > security & privacy > click on the general tab > select "anywhere" under "allow applications downloaded from". Once selected, you might get an alert about security, but the HD application should run.

Unfortunately the "Raspberry Beret" version included on this HD Tracks version is not the original found on the album, it has that weird distortion that appeared on the The Hits compilation, at least it is audible on the preview.

Seriously? You have a computer problem and your "solution" is to post the error here? Why isn't your first instinct to enter that error message into Google? Don't you think that a) more people will have had that error (which sounds very generic) and b) someone will have posted a solution? © Bart Van Hemelen

Hmmm, I don't remember any distortion... You do mean "The Hits" and not "Ultimate Prince," right? Of course right now I'm not even sure that song was on "Ultimate Prince." So for those of you who have bought it, how does it sound? No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Het zal je maar overkomen, Bart. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

I purchased this today and listened to it. I'm no audio expert like some of you, but the HD Tracks version sounds amazing. A hell of a lot better than either of the cds that I have (I have the first edition of the cd that came in the fold out case as well as the regular cd that was reissued later on). Upon first listen, I noticed how you can hear Prince's (or whoever's) hand playing the tamborine and bongos during the title track. Another thing I noticed was that the hiss that was prevelant on the cd is not there. I am really pleased. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

So for those of you who have bought it, how does it sound? Listen closely, it is audible @ the 1:48 min, when he sings "When she [insert distortion here] kissed me, she knew how to give a kiss", it is more present on the left channel, this version was introduced on The Hits compilation and it is not present on the original 1985 release.
