the Prince comic book

I was at the comic shop today and I found the old Prince comic book and the dude sold it to me for 5 bucks, is it a rare item?

if he sold it to you for $5, then no.

also, keep in mind that print-runs of comic books in the early '90s were very large.

Keep it in good condition in its plastic and years from now you can frame it or sell it.

yeahthat

There were 2 official ones released by an imprint (Piranha Press, iirc) of WB owned DC Comics. There was also a black & white bio syle comic released as part of the Rock & Roll Comics series from Revolutionary Comics...

There were actually 3 Prince comics produced. The most rare would be the Revolutionary Comics biography, but even that doesn't sell for very much. Here are the comicpriceguide.com links:

Alter Ego is the Piranha press one. It's worth like 7 bucks if you have the first printing with the covermount pin.
