Last December was a great New song to reflect 9/11. It should of gotten mass air play but did'nt. I called 2 radio stations and requested it. No Luck. Too bad for them and their listening audience. Personally my feelings went back to the 1999 album and the song "Free". I am glad Prince included it on his ONA Live set. Find that song if you have not heard it and have a listen. I believe you will Love It!!! I Do~

Your not being Rude, when I was sitting there with my face wet with tears it crossed my mind, "what the hell is wrong with me? My friend didn't even mention it to me. We were sitting in separate chairs and the lights were off. Only the TV light in the room. It was just tears running, no wimpers~ I just wipped my face with my hand and continued to drink more beer. We have a very honest relationship. He respects me enough to not say anything. He knows I Love Prince. Does anyone else think that part of UTCM sad?
I must confess I never found that particular scene move me, however your description of how the room was dark, and that your friend just kept quiet is very touching.

I don't think I will want to visit this site when Prince passes away. It will probably be too much...

sad

Oops ~ Trying to figure out this reply with quote feature.
Anji - That reply was really nice. When you have a friendship like that, its for Life. If a friend does not cut you some slack now and then, the friendship won't last. If you have something special then don't argue with it.

I love and appreciate Princes music, no matter how weird he gets. My heart sank when you mentioned the d word.
I don't have any other artist I think as much of as Prince. And I would'nt want it any other way.
I didn't want to mention 'it' but your post made me think. Thanks for being so honest, it was really moving.

That's interesting. Although I live in the UK, I was actually in Manhattan during 9/11 (I went to see MJ perform at Madison Sq the night before) but I have never linked that situation with those songs. Thanks for sharing.

that song has brought tears,
just the emotion & message.

Yeah Man! I hear ya!
were you in the NPGMC in 2001 when we were downloading audio shows?
To me the Month of September had the most powerful audio show.
When he sings the full virsion of 'Space', I cry, I feel what he is saying so deeply.
Ya know...

"The man that they accuse me of being of, that's not the one I really am.
I AM THE ONE WHO REALLY LOVES YOU, WITH ALL MY MIND, BODY,AND SOUL, with every stroke of my brush I'm gonna paint a wall around you so that you will never, ever know all the pain that a human has to go through, in a planet that's so bitter and cold, UNIVERSAL LOVE AWAITS YOU BABY ALL YOU GOTTA SAY IS THAT YOU REALLY, REALLY REALLY WANNA GO- AND WERE OUTTA HERE!

That gets me every time...

Does this get anyone elses emotions stirred?
This might sound cold but as much as I like the Universal Love remix of Space, I don't actually find those lyrics you mention, his vocal delivery of them or the music, particuarly tearful.

boxed

Hey that's cool!
We're all different..and no joke, It really strikes a cord with me!
'Cause I am the one who really loves you, with all my mind, body and soul!
Dig it?

When I first discovered P Purple Rain & Sometimes It Snows always got me teary, the Cross did as well. The song just raises all of your negative feelings and exorcises them. Why diss that rare effect?
Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. We are Sexually Frustrated what we R... Amen..!!! - zelaire

Prince can make me cry especially when live.
I did cry at the end of UTCM and I still
cry on Purple rain. Hell, I almost cried
when you mentioned his death! I am the
most emotional person though. It doesnt take
much for me to cry... obviously! wink
He calls me "Holi" cuz he says everyday w/ me is like a Holiday...

I get teary eyed during intense funky shit like Le Grind, or the recent live cover of Sing a Simple Song when I was front row... or when I hear a good soundboard of a rising powerful sequence of driving songs...

but I was also deeply affected by Avalanche when I heard it in sequence on that album in headphones at night going to sleep...

It seemed like such a hurt and violated emotion coming through...

i was listening to SISIA and i was writing a poem to my cousin,he's my age and we grew up together and he's in a gang and gets into trouble and i was thinking of how i would feel if he died, so i wrote him and poem and i started shedding tears, not sobbing, but shedding tears, it was weird, but i got the poem done.
There was a time when I
Could breath my life into you
One by one your pale fingers
Started to move
And I touched your face
And all death was erased
And you smiled like an angel
Falling from heaven
Just to be lift up again
