3rdEye TV: 'Sticky Like Glue' and Bass Jam Musical Inquiry. I didn't see this mentioned on the 3rdEye TV thread. I have three notable observations with regard to the 'Sticky Like Glue' rehearsal and the "Bass Jam"...
A) Who is on drums? If that's Hannah, she just won me over with her rhythm chops.
B) Prince says during the 'Sticky Like Glue' rehearsal, "Fellas..." We can easily hear that P is on guitar. Who's on Bass and, again, who's on drums?
C) Both are as tight as Cyberskin. Quote me.

According to Prince Vault and Dr Funkenberry it's Cora Dunham on the drums and the Sticky like Glue rehearsal is from 2010.
Also it doesn't sound like Hannah Ford at all. She doesn't play the cymbals that subtle and groovy. Also the fills are different to her style. The whole drumming style is not hers. And it's not as elaborate as John Blackwell (his fills give it away imo) so probably Cora on the Bass Jam track as well.
No idea about the bass. Either Ida Neilsen or Josh Dunham.

That is exactly what made my ears wonder who was drumming. It's distintively both heavy and subtly incredible... especially on a rythmic level. The "Bass Jam", where it's clear P is on Bass, is also tight and in this example, heavy in the Funk realm and powerful. "He's a musician's musician..." |

Did they take the vid down? Fuck, that pisses me off! I wanted to listen to the Sticky Like Glue rehearsal.
I've never been mad a P b4 but this just irks me... I couldn't watch the stream so we get punished for that?

It's Prince on guitar, right? At the end he's asking for wah wah, which seems a bit strange if his playing himself. But the rhythm playing stops while Prince is soloing, and the guitar solo is defenitely Prince, so I guess it is Prince all the way on guitar. Some great rhythm playing on this track! The wooh is on the one! | |
