Today, 29 yaears ago Purple Rain was released ! HB2U P.R.!

"Purple Rain (the motion picture soundtrack to the movie Purple Rain) is the sixth full-length studio album by Prince, and the first to be credited toPrince and the Revolution. It was released worldwide in June 25, 1984, a month before the movie, Purple Rain opened in Theaters.

Released a year and eight months after Prince's previous album 1999, it marked the longest period between albums to date."

This is without a doubt still (one of) Prince's best album(s) from the 80's.

I listened to PR every day, repeatedly that year. It was the summer right before my senior year and I had an hour bus ride each way, so I heard it a lot...on my walkman. LOL

I was so jealous of my friends from another town. Their school colors were purple and white so their graduation theme the following spring (the year we all graduated 1985) was, you guessed it, "Purple Reign".

I'm firmly planted in denial

Album and movie changed my life...sat in the theater with my boyfriend in Myrtle Beach 19 times in a row watching it. Played the album 'til the grooves were gone. lol
