Subliminal Messages i know about playing darling nikki backwardse at the end but are there any other neat and less obvious subliminal messages in prince's songs/albums.

This comes up every so often. Prince usually back masks words in some songs. The ones I recall at the moment are:
Darling Nikki (end of song) "Hello, how are U? I'm fine cuz I know that the Lord is coming soon Coming, coming soon" Baby I'm A star (at start) "Like what the fuck do they know? All their taste is in their mouth Really, what the fuck do they know? Come on, baby Let's go crazy!" Girl (Wendy singing the lyrics - but with 'boy' replacing 'girl' - played backwards There appears to be backward masking in 'The War' perhaps at two points, but I haven't ever seen anyone able to identify what might be said. There are also samples and other subtle spoken or sung inserts in songs which, although not particularly subliminal, are discreet such as: 'Mad' - "He's always on some medication" 'Pheremone' - "Pheromone make a nigga go crazy, fuckin' around make a nigga wanna die" 'Joint 2 Joint' where Prince repeatedly adds the word 'safe' after the looped 'sex me' Although not subliminal, there are also a number of times were Prince inserts different spoken phrases in languages other than English, most obviously, I guess, in 'Girls and Boys', the start of 'Do U Lie?', and various comments by Mayte in songs such as Get Wild ("Ououo, peligro que aqui yo vengo!") And of course, Prince sometimes plays around with speeding up or slowing down his voice to take on alter egos: Camille, the character in Bob George, the narrator in The Rainbow Children. Again, trying to pick up and interpret some of these parts can add interest (I appreciate the Narrator on TRC isn't everyone's favourite!) i dont mean to answer my own question but here is one thing that ive found:
in My Name is Prince around :55 one of the loops samples the hook from I Wanna Be Ur Lover very quietly in the background. i know that prince samples hooks from some of his other songs as a main part of the loop(like in 2morrow the Most Beautiful Girl in the World hook is very apparent) but im pretty sure that in My Name is Prince it is supposed to be more subtle. | |

In the song "The Flow" there are the spanish words for "Pendejo" and "Chinga tu pinche"...really!!!

I dont send or prescribe to the fact nor believe in subliminal recorded messages..especially with all the religious talk in prince music, your're seriouly ill and will lose your hard earned money in a bet on that proposterous idea.

Although he mentioned "In All My Dreams," I'll elaborate... If you play the song at 45 rpm or above (as Prince suggests, if you listen to the song closely), you can hear an entire additional narrative that is totally unintelligible at 33 rpm! It's been years since I've done this, so I've forgotten what he says. But that one has been my favorite Prince subliminal trick ever since! I don't believe in Subliminal Messages that's crap remember them talking bout Ozzy and how kids went Beserk with certain Artist's Music? Well,these kids had Problems to begin with if they were so influenced to Kill themselves. Satanic references in Zepplin remember with Page and Allistir Crowley and they say Manson is a Satanist and Mick and Anita Pallenberg with Witchcraft and you know Vanity was into Something also back then. She had a fascination with Amulets and she went to a Haunted House in Hollywood and got Arrested remember for Tresspassing. As long as things are for the Good and not the Bad then it's alright as they say White Witchcraft,but I don't Subscribe to that Religion or Kabbalah which is so new-fangled Mysticism that the Hassidics Practice. Those prince "subliminal messages" or samples are clearly heard through the songs... A subliminal item is in fact supposed to be hidden... Here it is more like a mysterious game Prince plays for the listeners to fill discussions about it... That's how the interest for this or that song remains (to a certain extent...) Its unreleased - recorded at Sunset Sound on April 28th 1985. Originally planned for inclusion on Parade. You can hear a section of the slowed down voice as it was later added to 'Acknowledge Me' included on 'Crystal ball.' 'All My Dreams' might also have been included on 'Roadhouse Garden' when it was being considered as a release in 1998/9.
