I don't.

And no, they aren't.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Why?

Let him release a few good albums first, please.

And no hyperboles please. It's good when the critics say so.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I love Prince but most people think his last album was purple rain. When his songs make the air waves he dominates.

Well, unless they start playing his songs on the XM stations that play Blue Collar Radio, or simulcast MSNBC, I won't hear it.

BUT, we do listen to the 80's on 8 station and they NEVER play Prince. In fact, the stuff they DO play from the 80's is the weakest stuff. The 80's stuff I listened to isn't played anywhere.

P3, mainstream national Radio in Denmark sucks big time, (imo),

the hot "stars" today are non-musicians well most of them,

I guess a "real musician" like Prince isn't "in" or "modern" today.

and, I guess Prince is a dinosaur from the past to most of the young people today, like said above the young listeners probably only know about Purple Rain, and maybe Kiss and The Most Beautiful Girl.

you can blame radio, and you can blame Prince - his recent music, but the times for Prince being "hot" on the radio are long gone..

A "new" generation has taken over. Prince is history.

OP has a point. He's not on the radio and his recent effort to be hip and all kind of seems to be a waste of time. But he was only half trying as usual. It's not like I want him to have Nicki Minaj featured in his songs but he doesn't seem like he's focused on making groundbreaking sounds anymore plus wasn't he the one who said he doesn't have time for old people & doesn't care about his own legacy? Then what's holding him back from trying something new and maybe collaborating with a producer? That and spending some $ on promotion is the way to get radio airplay for Prince I believe.

^ exactly. yeahthat

Maybe I am sounding old, but radio really sucks, I miss the old days with new great music, it's too much of "a product" now, socalled music, programmed with computers, it just ain't pop and funk and rock like I used to love it. It is so "sterile" now.. sad

If he actually sent them to radio stations, they might possibly get played.

Probably not, but radio isn't going to bother seeking the songs out or tracking down the licensing if it isn't sent to them.
