Please tell: what exactly is a "Sample collection"..?

Its the reason been playing dj @ his shows lately with his sampler set segment. Which Eye am a big fan of! Even though no one else likes it. Its a preview,advertisement & promotion of his Sampler collection.

Prince always does things 4 a reason. But most peeps criticizes him without knowing the real reason he does it.. Once he releases it. It will make millions. Since 's samples r highly requested of his "MasterPieces"... Eye guess he was waiting until he signs a good publishing deal. Which he finally found in Kobalt Muziq Publishing..Expect a big announcement soon!!

I remember hearing about this project,back in the 90s? I wonder what happened with it.

Man, I hope he doesn't release this. That's all we need... some no talent "producer" sampling Prince's sound.

I can sound like Prince without touching a sample, and I have a real Linn drum machine.

I damn sure hope he doesn't include guitar and bass parts.

I agree but I'd still like 2 get my hands on this set.

There was a bootleg years ago that had a sampler set on it.

It was my fav boot that ever came out. It really showed how many layers and the amount of detail that went into the songs.

Remember how the original hip hop artists took a record and looped the instrumental. Not so much sampled but.... just blatently rapped over an entire instrumental?

Some samples are circulating IIRC. I thought they were from the website, like a teaser for the set, but it seems they are leaks in the end.

It's possible the old set was canceled because of mlicencing problems with WB. If WB material was sampled there, WB had to get their share and they could also prevent the one-time fee licence thing. But who knows...

No it wouldn't! They did it to James Brown & it put him right back in the spotlight. The same can happen 4 PrinceKah! But this time on his own terms. It will open up a whole new young generation that doesn't know who Princekah is..Plus he will profit from it..

He did a sampler set as part of 2002's ONA shows.
