Hahaha like you guys been with MJ all the time and saw him trying to be like Prince MJ is the one of the fashion/style people who changed guys look from afro and tight pants to a better look and style.. I wonder why they didn't imitate Prince's style Strange, huh?
In fact who's the one who been stalking MJ? I imagine this small studio of Prince when MJ's photos are all over the wall, it's like worshiping traditions when he knows all about him.. And let's face it; MJ never gave a fuck about Prince until he heard some of his best records (I'm not saying Prince has bad records...well, he does now), and even if he cared once in a while i don't see in MJ the man who's imitating others and stealing their style, his dancing, his look, his IMAGE, that's something for the imitation... and we ALL Know that the handsomeness of 80's MJ makes Prince and others look like a fuck.
: Hy P! Wassup! : Oh man I feel ugly.. MJ: No.. I guess.
No no wait Yes you are that bad. (I mean look at the gif, he says it for real)

Le's just say.. MJ was a better musician on his own.. Prince was also a genius on his own way... And yet Prince is one of THE FEW GREATEST artists of the 1980s... Those few may contain only 5 or 6 artists.. And everybody has the right to choose his fav to be crowned as the GREATEST.. IT's about opinions.. Thanx for discussion.

man, there are so many things we can talk about as far as Prince and why he was a Super Star in the 1980s than Prince comparisons
. I say they all earned their spot, they had different influences and perspectives. There is a reason they are all still HUGE in the 2013 rip MJackson
. And Prince had respect for them all too
. But I love the OP the direction and influences he had on music and style looking back we can see how he could have been even BIGGER and that hugeness have a longer run But it is what it is

Tired of this bulshit... Let's just don't talk again about P and MJ.. Okay? It's just sick, you guys lack respect for MJ fangirling/boying all thime for nothing, I said Prince was ugly, he was.. in the 80's, that's a known fact, i said MJ is better than him in look, THAT's A FACT.. I didn't bash and i never bashed Prince as a musician... I respect him. And no need for me to go to a MJ fan site, at least they have a forum for only Prince there..., unlike the org who just dislikes MJ because he's more famous.

I have always been a fan of MJ's music and will always respect and appreciate it, but are you serious? Do you know how many artists and fans tried to copy Prince's hairstyle/look and sound? Are you kidding me? Prince took the music industry by storm with that Minneapolis sound. Many may have tried to emulate MJ's dance moves, but many young, males (from various racial backgrounds) were trying to look like Prince and have that 'pretty man' look. Once MJ 'changed' his look completely, many of his fans questioned what was going on, and it pretty much became a sad situation, which although MJ had a major fan base, many became freaked out over his appearance and behavior. Sad but true. I remember when Micki Free replaced a member of Shalamar. Whomever was managing Shalamar at the time, was trying to make Micki Free a version of Prince. Micki Free even stated that in an interview, and said that was the image they wanted Micki Free to have because that was the 'in' look, but Micki Free could not emulate Prince's music style or stage performance. He didn't have the performance charisma that Prince had to draw fans to him, the way Prince did. I don't think you can really compare either of these two artists to one another, because they both had/have diffferent performance styles. Prince is a musician/artist/performer, whereas MJ was a singer/performer, not really instrumentally inclined, as Prince is. So there is the difference between the two. At the end of the day, both artists revolutionized the music industry in their own way, and both became legends, which is why so many still talk about them today. Had their music not have an effect/influence on so many, neither would have achieved a world-wide fan base. So to debate which of the two was/is 'better' is really a senseless debate.

Why would Michael allow that pic to go out to the general public??
I think Prince had a lot more freedom in his music and appearance than what Michael may have had, there was no controlling family or previous image to have to compete agianst, Prince was just Prince how ever he chose to portray himself.

Actually Michael had been wearing Millitary Style jackets during the Thriller Era (before '97). Michael also was wearing leather jackets before P's Purple Rain Era. The motorcycle thing seems true though. Not being butthurt or anything, im just saying. this is a very intreseting observation What's underneath your hair,Is anybody living in there?

Guys, chill! No reason to call people ugly and whatnot. MJ reading about prince dosen't prove anything!!! MJ and Prince were in TONS of magazines so they were bound to see each other. Didn't Prince say "MAKE LOVE NOT WAR"?!? MJ and Prince respeceted each others artistry and we should too! What's underneath your hair,Is anybody living in there?

I'm a Prince guy, but that is True, Mike was more accessible and did not allow eccentricities to spill into the music.

Pretty much the case closed with all this MJ crap is ... he actually completely changed his image, with a mysterious quiet personality, to bleaching of his skin - yes the real reason he started bleaching his skin was because Prince was lighter & he thought that was the reason the public loved him in the Purple Rain era, to having a Apollonia type with Tatiana Thumbtzen, to trying to pretend he did all the production, etc to songs, to the original album cover for bad was MJ with lace on his face... lace? Now add later with MJ's "symbol" on history was a direct rip off of Prince's... MJ has been eating a Prince shit sandwich since 1983. The peak of MJ's Prince worship was BAD. But damn the true reason MJ died was he was trying to compete with Prince's 21 shows in 21 days. But being a complete drug addict for decades his body couldnt hold up with the schedule. He even said to Kenny Ortega while trying to do his last concert he was mumbling about Prince.. The sad thing is I can probably think of 10 more examples of MJ biting off Prince, but there isnt one the other way. It's actually pretty sad how much MJ turned in "Single White Female" for Prince.

2. MJ wore white clothes in public waaayy before P. Sowwy. 3. MJ wore fedoras and military jacket before P did. In fact MJ wore fedora even during Motown era when all P could do was watch MJ on television and dream of getting a record deal. 4. "The Way You Make Me Feel" doesn't have any signature P sound whatsoever. 5. P went around and played MJ's music and went all "hee-hee" at live shows. MJ does Dirty Diana, big deal, and I can see P's influence in that song but it is more commonly seen as a combination of Billie Jean's lyrics and Beat It's musical style. 6. ^^The problem isn't necessarily MJ's name being mentioned in a thread. The original article already did so MJ discussion was gonna be brought up sooner or later. But this thread got all childish with that tumblr picture comparison of MJ and Prince, and denying of MJ's skin disorder. Oh and the appearance of a poster named thedance jk! But I only joined the circus to further entertain the clowns by showing how silly themselves are In all seriousness, because MJ's influence during the 80's often mentioned and acknowledged while P's isn't, at least as often, I can certainly appreciate the article. And I can certainly see why some would consider P as the greatest artist of the 80's, just like how my friend would say that about Springsteen. It's all good
