Pics of Prince in a head scarf thing I bumped into a friend today who had a head scarf on her head, and I told her she looked like Prince, and sent her this pic:
http://s117.photobucket.c...8.jpg.html
I can't think of what it's actually called though, hence 'head scarf thing'!
I know he used to wear it in the early 90s too didn't he? But I can't find the pics, so here's a request for Prince in those daft hair pieces!

One day you'll get outside the doo-rag When you really want to contemplate this jacked up Paranormal situation that yr people got into (Can I hip you?) No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.
Sex is not love. Love is not sex. Putting words in other people's mouths will only get you elected. Need more sleep than coke or methamphetamine.

Actually the pic the OP is referring that's posted of Prince in that photobucket pic, is worn like a doo-rag. He wore a long doo-rag under his hat a lot during the 3121 era, when it was worn in that fashionable way by a lot of males during 2004-2007. That paisley-designed bandana in the pic you posted, with Prince wearing it around his neck, is sometimes used as a doo rag by many males, especially by many Black and Hispanic males. Littel Richard, James Brown wore it to support the back of their pompadour/Typhoon hairdoos. Prince wore it like that in the 90s. He wore it in the 'Wiling & Able' video, same way Little Richard/James Brown did back in the day, and many male singers./singing groups wore it to support their processed hairdos, using heavy, waxed hair grease to give a straight-hair appearance or waves. It's worn in various ways. [Edited 6/12/13 17:05pm]

This is my personal favorite of him recently with "a head scarf thing" lol. LOVE this entire look; sleeveless tunic, wristband, and especially his expression of intensity. It's all good...

Yep, that's what I was referring to, but glad you posted pics of him wearing the doo rag look much earlier than I remembered.

I think I have some during Controversy or 1999 too
But I don't remember him wearing them live on stage prior to ^this, just around his neck or in his pocker or tied around his boots
Morris hi as a kite in Purple Rain

hmmmm, i usually only read stuff, but now i feel i need to comment on this. this is ''little Richard''!!! he's a legend and active since the 40's. I think it''s more likely the other way around. Prince thinks he's little richard!
still a weird headpiece indeed

hi, yep he is and no i'm not pulling..... only thing worries me a bit, is that nobody else made that remark
Little richard was and is still cool at 80 or something. (which you would never give him, he still looks almost identical as in the picture you posted, which could easily be 20+ years old).

^ To Peer 1973: About Little Richard vs Prince : Haven't you seen the "Lovesexy" documentary film from 1989 named: "Prince - a Musical Portrait"? In this film some really big names makes their comments about Prince: Eric Clapton, Miles Davis, George Clinton, Quincy Jones, Little Richard (and some more), the comment about Little Richard above here on the Org, maybe is because this documentary..? No disrespect, Little Richard is a legend, BUT what he said then about Prince, this was really silly, and funny too. Something like "Prince is only a copy of what HE/ Little Richard has done previously *) ".. really silly/ funny to say that.... well I have seen quite a lot of Prince fans making fun of LR because of what he said back then about Prince, over the years... (* I know I am not accurate in the quote)... try to get your hands on this documentary, the live recordings are really great, some Lovesexy aftershow recordings, as well as a beautiful rehearsal of "The Ladder", you know the song from the ATWIAD album.. Prince 4Ever.

So far, the most recent pix I have of him wearing the bandana on his head was late 1999-Purple Rain era, prior to that he only wore the bandana around his neck.
I think during that 1983- period he and Morris wore them 'live' because he featured that persona ie like the song Chocolate -the man with the raspy voice...

Sarcasm obviously isn't your Forté I'm extremely knowledgeable about music and artists... I was joking when i said "This guy thinks he's Prince" I assumed most people would understand that i'm saying Prince was copying Little Richard.. as Hendrix did before Prince..

sarcasm.... well it actually is.....but i clearly missed it. And nobody else did....
so much for my first reply.....
i''m surrounded by people here in NL, who don't even know who Elvis or the Beatles are.
Get's me annoyed every time. When i have to explain that electronic music was NOT invented by Tiesto or David Guetta, but it started with Kraftwerk. Or when i have to tell who the old guy is, playing guitar in the Daft Punk song 'get lucky'.
so indeed i was not really surprised, that if you wouldn''t know Little Richard....you would think it a weirdo with a stupid head piece....
i'll go back into being a silent observer of the forum again...back on topic
