The Walk.. the funkiest brass section ever is... The freakin Oberheim played by the hands of Prince. Who needs Maceo on sax, Wesley on trombone, or any other brilliant musician blowin some sort if horns when you have this? Erase your knowledge of music theory, and just hear it for what it is. I've heard it a million times, but somehow it really did amaze me more when I tried listening to each element, each "voice" that as a whole imitates a brass section. The whole album is to me proving that Prince has one of the most complex minds when it comes to constructing so articulate, precise, intricate drum patterns and brass sections in his head. How he manages the whole "band" to sound so tight, yet so free as if there's a bunch of tight musicians jamming, is making me more amazed the more I learn about all these things myself.
