Prince and Richard Pryor... Was watching Richard Pryor: Omit the logic on showtime tonite. The script for Purple rain was presented to him for director. He said he would, not do it cuz there was not an all black crew. Interesting bit of info, never knew this. Can anyone elaborate further? Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I saw a documentary on Football legend Jim Brown who was working with Richard's movie production company at the time when the PR script came to their office. He stated that Richard turned it down because HE didn't kno who Prince was at the time. The past is just that, the past but it would have been a different movie indeed under Richard's direction.

It was Jim brown who turned the script down not rich. Pryor fired Jim over it
