If you are asking specifically about whether or not Prince had a stunt double for Purple Rain, then the answer to that is yes. An extra who also was an employee at First Ave. was asked to stand in for Prince in the scene in the basement when Prince is destroying things. It is this person who did the stunt where we see Prince hanging from the basement rafters. Other than that specific scene and only on a number of shots, Prince was in all other scenes. The person is uncredited, he was a friend of mine back in the 80's. This is first hand information. I do not wish to name him here as I would not want his privacy invaded.
