Because (people with low self esteem) have to put down others to feel better about themselves. Putting down via the internet anonymously is the new brown.

I've mentioned drfunkenberry in several posts. Not one time did I put him down. It was the truth, not a put down so there goes your low self-esteem theory. What's makes his opinion about anything more important than mine? He is some guy who blogs and give news about Prince, talks to Prince, runs a spreecast, PRINCE WATCHES and discusses many of the topics in the spreecast SUGGESTED BY PRINCE. Does this mean I can't blog and post my opinion about him or Prince? I was there from fruition. I know, and he is what he is. So is Prince and he should know putting people down via the internet anonymously AND via his songs is "the new brown."

I think he could be a genuinely nice person in the real world but after getting too involved in the Prince...organization he changed. Like Prince, he tries to act like it's "all coming from a place of love" and positive but he's made enough snide remarks and he's even used his site to be snarky to other artists/ex-Prince associates/employees/exes/fans who had issues with negative things Prince has done over the years. I understand he has an agenda. I don't have a problem with it but it is what it is with this guy. He's a sycophant and obviously thinks Prince, his people, and you Prince fans can help him become famous and have a gossip site like Perez Hilton. Maybe he wants his own show like TMZ except on his show he will have a small group of Prince fans from the Prince cult talking about Prince and his associates music as they gladly serve Prince and continue to give him and drfunkenberry their money.

I met him before the site and after. He has not changed to me. And snarky about other people? You mean like others here? Like anyone else in real life?

He does not go out of his way to be mean to people and I do not feel he is deserving of the comments he gets on this site, particularly since he is a member of this community and it's not allowed to happen to anyone else without getting snipped.

Dr. Funkenberry is an internet blogger with his own website and has meet Prince numerous times, been to numberous concerts (60 plus) and Has direct contact with Prince's camp and with Prince. Doc funk is an independent newsource and doesn't bombard his followers with adds and bs. WHich is why Prince(independent artist) is leaking information through him.

The spreecast which is run by doc funk and seth everett was COMMISIONED By PRINCE. PRINCE WATCHES THE SPREECAST THIS IS A FACT . many of the topics in the spreecast were SUGGESTED BY PRINCE.

independent news source?

commissioned by Prince?

I think you need to learn the definition of independent news source.

independent news source- Not affliated with any corporate news organization.

Yes, I mean like others here. He may not go out of his way to be mean to people but he goes out of his way for Prince and the Prince camp. He wants to stand out and be another human megaphone for Prince and the camp so any comments he gets comes with his job. He is a member of this community like me and you. He's clearly a Prince sycophant and I think it's a good thing here on prince.org he can't remove comments he and Prince can't handle or disagrees with like he does on his website.

Anyone can give their opinion or their truth (and should), but do we have to politically assassinate the other person's character or position when doing so? (Not saying you do, but most do.) When did agree to disagree go out of fashion?

I believe adults should be able to "agree to disagree". The problem is when a person or group of people think it's ok for them to do negative things, such as assassinate the other person's character or position as you mentioned and/or waste another group of people's time, energy, and hard earned cash on them when they are doing negative, self-serving, $hit there will be war. This is why there are wars so sadly, agree to disagree went out of fashion a very long time ago.

Stymie, I just realized after reading your post that I met you the first day/night of the Empire Club show in Vegas in 2006. I met about 3 other fans earlier that morning, waiting on line outside the Empire Club, , and were members of the NPGMC. I met you later in the afternoon, when you went by a different fan site name. How time flies.

I remember I decided to leave the hotel for a couple of hours in the morning, the day of the first show, to find the location of the club, so I wouldn't have to look for it a few hours before the show started. When I found the club, tbere was already about 5 people, waiting on line, and I introduced myself.

(Edited) I saw J in Vegas during the 3121 shows, and he was handing out a few t-shirts at the Rio in Vegas, to fans waiting on line. I still have that t-shirt believe it or not.....lol.

Anyway, it seems he has always been a very, dedicated Prince fan, humble, and keeping up-to-date with Prince news. I guess you can say he's a pretty cool dude, and hopefully he stays that way.

We both know that the Dr.'s website only exists as a front for issuing press releases from Paisley Park. The fact that he doesn't get paid for it is a whole extra layer of amusement.

This is a fact but according to Doc funk, "When U have no expectations and no sense of entitlement, U will be rewarded".

Obviously just being chosen by Prince to issue press releases from Paisley Park is rewarding for some in his...organization.

Anyway, (update). It's so strange how I just mentiohed J's mom in my post to you, and I was listening to his Spreecast show and he revealed his mom is hospitalized. He's also going through a lot with his health, so sending lots of prayers to Doc, and hope things work out for his health and his mom as well. pray

This story is a good example of how Prince grooms fans and places them in position. It only took "J" a couple of years before he was rewarded by Prince. First, he was called on stage by Prince and now he's "Drfunkenberry" aka "The Doc" who was chosen by Prince to issue press releases from Paisley Park.

Pierre Igot from Love4OneAnother and the Emancipation. He worshipped Prince and use to be a sycophant for Prince before he got a Drfunkenberry. disbelief I doubt anyone can find Pierre. The stories I've heard about him. I wasn't surprised someone like him was once a part of the Prince...organization.

I think the turn out will be the same. Not much has changed. There was even a Jestyr back then.

Thanks Stymie for correcting that. I actually thought that was 'J'. doh! I surely made a terrible mistake, and take full responsibility for that. I believe now it was that guy who called himself 'Darklotus' or something like that, who has been on stage quite a few times at many Prince shows singing/dancing? I remember it was a guy with a red fedora type hat and a black suit? For some reason, I always thought that was J. So I guess the first time I actually saw J was at the 3121 show in Vegas.

Apparently that was the wrong person as Stymie corrected me. J and the guy who I believed was 'J', turns out to be a different Prince fan, which I assumed was J, and I apologize to J for assuming he was that guy I mentioned in my previous post, which I will edit.

But Sassey, you seem to have a very, strange imagination though. I don't believe for one minute the guy that was called on stage that night at the Empire Club, was 'groomed' by Prince in anyway. Somehow you still seem angry and miserable though, so I'll dedicate this to you. Maybe it will make you feel better: comfort

I didn't watch but from what I can see I'll say Bless you, As-salam alaykum and all the good stuff.

You mean that didn't make you laugh? You just seem so miserable all the time. You need to let a crack of sunshine in sometimes, it might force a smile. Oh, and by the way, I'm sure those who are muslim would appreciate your "As-salamu alaykum". Besides you don't come off as one of 'peace', but you could use a dose of it. You more or less come off angry, disgruntled, and all that that other stuff, that hangs on when you keep things bottled up inside..

No, I didn't watch it. I do plenty of laughing and I'm actually known as a ray of sunshine to many. How you perceive me is not important. It's obvious you get things twisted and you don't always know what you're talking about.

So J went from passing out t-shirts in Vegas during the 3121 shows, you still have the t-shirts from the Rio in Vegas, and now J issues press releases for Paisley Park and you're still here on the org doing what you do. LOL

lol peace sun biggrin

This story is a good example of how Prince grooms fans and places them in position. It only took "J" a couple of years before he was rewarded by Prince. First, he was called on stage by Prince and now he's "Drfunkenberry" aka "The Doc" who was chosen by Prince to issue press releases from Paisley Park.

Stymie, I said, "First, he was called on stage..." I wasn't there so I don't know if he did or didn't get on stage that evening.

Yeah, you're confuse because 2elijah put out the wrong information.

Good try, and hey, at least you keep up with my posting history, good girl, but if my perception of you is not important, then why did you feel compelled to convince me that you're a 'ray of sunshine?' lol Even a 'ray of sunshine' would quickly recognize the angry vibe you've been spilling all over this site, and may choose to pass you by with a quickness and not fast enough. lol

So since you claim you don't care about my perception of you, then my opinion of you shouldn't matter, so I may as well say, that it's pretty clear that you have been making strange accusations/assumptions of members here, even me. But I'm not mad at you, because I don't know you (but you are humor to me), and it would take the world to end before I would grant you the opportunity to take me to that point. You've even made assumptions of DocF, EyeJester, etc., who have had some type of communication with Prince or members of his camp, referring to them as syncophants, etc. You did give a hint that you may be an ex-employee/ex-associate of the Prince camp, so you do come off like a disgruntled ex-employee/associate/ex-side chick, etc., maybe angry that you are no longer part of your former employer's/friend's camp, and you're missing it.

Anyway, good luck with using this site to beg for an apology and to obtain attention from the individual/individuals of your intent. Maybe one day you will find peace and happiness with that situation. Have a blessed day and thanks for the entertainment. You'e doing a good job. smile sun

Sure did, and I cleared it up, but you didn't waste a minute 'jumping' on that information and drawing your 'assumptions' from it. lol

Funkenberry got some info of 3121 party for his blog. He met Prince and that started the relationship of Prince leaking info etc through his blog. That's how I understood it.

Actually, good to see Dr is going with an app. Like I mentioned I'm 99% of time on tablet. Everything is app based. I don't believe he will ever have something as big as TMZ, Perez Hilton. I'm guessing that those get traffic from apps but are so established. The days of blogs are over. Laptops are dead.

What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

I'm sure he's a lovely person. I just wish he'd learn to spell - or get someone to proofread his posts. shrug

I thought when spreecast started, it was crusty and needed some professionalism. In general thats why I feel sad when seeing Prince related projects on the web. I know that Seth is a pro-likely has degree in journalism or broadcasting from SU??- but things at first were crusty. I checked them last night and I thought the flow of the show was actually getting better and good. Though Prince controls the excitement level, without more Prince involvement they will never get a deal with Sirius as they would dream. Unless they are wedged between Riley/Eric the Midget on 101.

I wish the same with Dr., proofread and spellcheck.

They must feel underwhelmed by the number of views? The daytrading site I trade at is getting like on avg 1500 live views through entire day and it is underground. If they do have Prince's blessings, the official unofficial official spreecast, the least he could do with 3rdEye is tweet out about spreecast or throw up a link to the spreecasts at 3rdEyeGirl web site? You think?? Especially when Funk/Seth are promo devices for the man.

If Prince does something more with the web I just hope for some professionalism and not so gorilla but if he includes Funkenberry/Seth, etc or others from the Purple Empire that would be cool. The more the merrier! Likely Kobalt has a good plan.

Get it right, it's sycophants, and I haven't made any strange assumptions. Everything you, any member of this site, DocF, and EyeJester post is here. You exaggerate and you get things twisted. I haven't begged for an apology and no matter how many times you want to keep repeating yourself, your opinion/perception of me doesn't matter and I don't need you to wish me good luck. You have no reason to be mad at me. I don't miss being in his crazy cult camp. You must be in it or you're trying to get on the Prince payroll. You need to relax. You're so busy telling me how angry and disgruntled you think I am you can't even see through all your fake laughs and smiley faces how ruffled your feathers look. If it will make you happier I will tell you that this place wouldn't be the same without you. You're good for entertainment and I get good laughs watching people kiss ass. It's something I don't do.
