Come on, we all know that Prince wrote her album, but I'm REALLY REALLY hoping that "2nite" is the exception and that Bria actually wrote it, because it's, well... it's pretty crappy.

It says co-composed ans ASCAP reflects this (except for Kept Woman of course) so it's possible that Bria was involved in the lyrics and/or melodies, that or Prince gave her some ASCAP royalties like he did with Sheila, Carmen and Tamar.

Actually the song In Ur Bed which isn't supposed to contain any Prince involvement has a melody that sounds a LOT like the melodies of several Elixer song, so that would tend to demonstrate Bria has a melodic style and may have been involved in the composing process.

For Sheila's Romance 1600, we know because numerous witnesses from Prince's camp back then said it.

For Carmen it's a bit more blurry because no one said a thing but the fact that she was reported to be quite unintererested in a music career + the fact that she received royalties for Good Judy Girlfriend which we know 4 sure is a Prince composition tend to indicate that she never wrote a line of lyrics (which in a way is a pity because it means Prince is responsible for this whole bunch of stupid lyrics ).

For Tamar, all I know is that someone here reported that she personnaly told him she hadn't written a thing and that Prince gave her the royalties as a friendly gesture (now this person may have been lying but the report seemed honest).

For Bria, as far as I know there is no definitive element to demonstrate that her ASCAP credits are unearned. Same goes with Andy.

But Prince has done this throughout his career, relinquishing writing credit.
