Man this song keeps growing on me. It still falls under the "recent Prince songs with complete non-choruses" but it's got energy and it feels like something he hasn't done before so that's something.

Also the production on the drums sounds a bit muffled too. Compare it to when Michael B was playing and the kicks and snares sound really average.

That said, it's good to see a half-dencent vid being promoted in a normal way. Roll on the album...

wit the drumming i said the same thing if u look back on cora her drumming sound the same with michael and john their snare is more crisp and snare they rely more on snare.i dont think she tunes her snare up much and 2 me the snare is the focus point in drumming. i love prince but im sorta over 3rd eye already they boring 2 me

The video is fine. It's Prince and that's all there is to say.

What gets on my nerves is that the song feels unfinished. Everything after the spoken word part just sounds out of place and unnecessary. It's a fantastic soing until just after the spoken word part. UGH! It needs another verse and a chorus!

Just to contradict, I like the way the track sort of falls apart (all be it in a controlled manner - P needs to listen to some propper alternative noise grunge rock stuff to learn how to do it propperly)

However if it picked back in to the riff for a few bars (a-la an etended version) that would be great!

The song is a grower and the video is one of his better ones.

There's something quite old-skool about his recent output, and not in a forced if-I-dust-off-the-Linn-Drum-and-some-old-synths-I-will-sound-like-I-did-in-1981 kind of way. It feels like genuine inspiration again.

Really liked Screwdriver, RNR Love Affair and Fixurlifeup.

I appreciate that he turned things around and added a bit of Funk Wah Wah guitar at the end to remind people that he's Prince.. Nice.

This pretty much describes every song he's done a video for in the last few years. His lyrics have gotten so much worse than his "hayday." So disappointing. I don't need to hear a 55 year old man sing "I'm your driver, you're my screw." Barf.

Decent video...terrible song. I just can't get into the new guitar player...her playing is so sloppy and all over the place. There's even a point in the video where she starts soloing and Prince has this cringed look on his face...lol. The other two seem decent enough, but he should just sign John Blackwell to a "lifetime contract" and be done with searching for a drummer for good. I don't care who plays bass as long as it's not Larry

Prince has worn an afro from back in the day, so I wouldn't say that it's just not him, and I see nothing wrong with it now. Have it occured to any of you that maybe his hair is thinning, and an afro makes it looks fuller. Prince is at that age where he's even lucky that he has hair, especially since his dad was bald in his later years, and balding is hereditary. Maybe that's why he's wearing the afro now.
